Hi,

I've noticed that there are a lot of parental control apps on the market for restricting the use of specific apps (i.e. a sandbox), but I haven't found any which limit the amount of time children can use the phone each day. Are there any apps out there which have this functionality? Thanks in advance!

I haven't seen one. You could try to limit internet access through your WiFi router as your kids may not figure out that they can't connect to sites because you have restricted thier mac address to certain hours. They may not realize they could turn off wifi and get the content through mobile data. I only have a cheapo router from Walmart and I can set time limits based on Mac addresses (a unique network identifier for network adapers). This would work for mobile devices, laptops/netbooks, gaming consoles, and anything else that connects to your router.

I recently got Funamo Parental Control for my kids and absolutely love it. It allows you to set time-limit for applications that you choose. In my case, I only allow games and youtube from 6pm to 8pm. Pretty cool! It's very powerful. It filters web to block porn stuff. It also monitors all calls, texts, visited web sites, applications which you can view from your PC. Check it out. The app link is https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=funamo.funamo and company website is Funamo! - Best parental control for mobile devices
