EDIT: From my post below, this seems like a better solution unless you just want the stock theme in SPRecovery format

Well, I learned a bit doing this and I realized that having two different recoveries sucks...work this out people and get on the same page! :) ....but I'm done doing this...check this out:

Jrummy's Remix Rom Cyanmod 5.0.5-V0.1 (3-21-2010) - CyanogenMod Forum

ROM & Hacks & Theme....in SPRecovery's, Nandroid backup format...I'm downloading it now too cause that is just too nice of Mr. Jrummy @ the Cyanogen forum!

Here is my Original Post:

5.0.5 is out. Here is the SPRecovery version of Koush's Cyanogen ROM with the Stock Theme and one with NexTheme.

If you like the HexFusion or other Metamorph theme that is compatible with Koush's ROM, you can apply those yourself :)

The reason I have a NexTheme version is that it has to be applied in Clockwork Recovery...so to all my friends that are allergic Clockwork recovery...this is for you :)

All credit goes to Koush for the ROM & Haxzamatic & Manup456 for the NexTheme.

I did nothing but put this ROM together in a package that you could use with an acceptable level of comfort. I'm not a dev...I won't take request (okay...not any more request lol)...I'm not responsible for you messing up your phone, etc.

If you love it the ROM or themes or both...donate a buck or two to the actual creators.

NexTheme link (credit Haxzamatic & Manup456) - Nextheme V1.9R5 - Cm Droid V5.0.4 - CyanogenMod Forum
(this theme worked for 5.0.5...but there is an updated V2.0 coming...so I hear)

To install these SPRecovery compatible, Nandroid backups:
- Download one of the ROMs below
- Unzip the file and place the containing folder in the nandroid folder on your sdcard.
- Reboot into recovery
- Format data and cache inside SPRecovery
- Perform Advanced Backup (select the Cyanogen backup listed above)
- Reboot and Enjoy

I hope you do enjoy this...I've been bouncing from recovery to recovery A LOT in the past day or two...it's a PITA! :)

Hmmm.. I didn't want to go back to Koush's ROM, but since you put the effort into this I think I'm going to give it another chance to impress me.

Haha! Go for it. CRPercodani and myself were poking fun in the thread you started about Koush's ROM. I don't know if you saw our comments it but it was funny that your thread started the Cyanogen mania for many of us and then you were like..."eh...I'm going back to my old ROM" (or something like that) :)

so wait, with his i don't have to delete data... do i have to here? i already have a version of it/

With this, you don't have to flash to Clockwork Recovery if you are on SPRecovery and don't want to bounce back and forth if you are using different ROMs. (Cyanogen in Clockwork Recovery, Everything else basically in SPRecovery).

I discovered that thread yesterday. I am waiting for a release in Clockwork format (just getting burnt out on switching back and forth).

Does this come with metamorph pre-installed? What is Clockwork format?

Clockwork is the recovery used with ROM manager that the Cyanogen releases are using (but are being converted to SB Recovery). As of now, the 2 methods are not compatible (but it is easy to switch back and forth). As far as I now the ROMs are already themed. You can get Metamorph for free in the market.

You are probably using SPRecovery 99.2b or 99.3b. These ROMs are simply converted from a recovery you don't use...to the one that your do use...Just to give you an easy way of trying Koush's Cyanogen ROM...It's really great IMO. Metamorph is not pre-installed (free from the market like shrink57 said). The first download link is an unthemed version of the ROM and the second link has a theme applied to the same ROM. Also, I have added a link at the top of my original post for a much more evolved version of what I've done...It's like BBv0.9 meets Cyanogen...nice.

I am giving this a go via the Nandroid backup method.

However, how does one flash a new kernel? I tried using SPRecovery and it totally FUBAR'd the phone. I've never seen so many FC's! LOL.

Do I need to go to the clockwork recovery to flash kernels? Will the other kernels work, just using the other recovery?

Thx.

This comes with a 1.0GHz Kernel but it is not that fast. I like AdamZ 1.1 kernel with this but it *HAS TO* be made specifically for Cyanogen to work. Also, I do believe that it has to be flashed in Clockwork to work...but I've never tried flashing a new kernel in SPRecovery.

You might want to give this a look:

Jrummy's Remix Rom Cyanmod 5.0.5-V0.1 (3-21-2010) - CyanogenMod Forum

There are options for a few different compatible kernels (but you have to use their theme...I don't think you can metamorph all of it away).

That's what I downloaded, and it was an Adam 1100 kernel. I wanted the low voltage 1000 one, so I tried loading that. LOL, that was funny.

Hmm, I'll give this a day or two and if I like it I will download the recovery and play.

Launcher is still really slow, at least on this version. Helix works much smoother.

Give it a day...seriously, this ROM has a break in period...it's strange.

Lol, true. I never expected that thread to get as huge as it did. I think I owe myself another shot. Gonna have to go check out those comments now. :p
