So....

I know we are all having some issues with this phone, and rightfully so. It's freakin' Pre-Brand New!!! I have read a bunch and experienced some of my own. A guy at Best Buy told me today that he had a pre-order gal call him 4 times the first day. So, my question is.... How long before Samsung does a software update to fix all these messes? Geez, release the phone a month after schedule at least, so we don't have to deal with these imperfections. Mine keeps telling me I have a text message when I actually don't. I know there are a lot of problems with software right now. Anyone know the skinny on this?

In the meantime, the phone is still awesome and I'm enjoying it. I almost traded it in for the EVO 4G LTE. Glad I didn't.

What issues? I have an at&t version and I don't have a single complaint. Everything works from pop up, to nfc, to mobile hotspot and all the normal things like email and web browsing. Nothing on my phone is lacking in any way. Is this an int'l version thing?

It is a NEW phone that had the release date pushed back there should be NO problems.....I might be a tad bit PO'd with samsung though....I got a GNX on verizon and it was released with a crummy radio, poor reception, one way call muting, problems that have not been fixed by software updates as promised by verizon and samsung.......hope the s3 is a different story.....but I wouldn't hold my breath......if you have problems initially then they will most likely persist as history shows.

except you can't blame samsung since it is a nexus and the software bugs should have been fixed by google. The release date was only pushed back to have enough supply not like they had issues and were waiting for a fix. You need to quit generalizing because samsung did not care about a nexus since its not their device. They save the good things for their flagship line.

And what if the problems are partially due to hardware? All three involved (samsung, google, and verizon are too busy blaming each other and lying)
How about the Fascinate? I had one of those too.....lucky I guess.

I really do like samsung phones (great screens and feel)....there have just been too many that do not work like they were supposed to so I am skeptical....the s3 looks great on paper but there are some posts here and on xda talking about signal problems and also apps to sd. The charge was one that actually was fixed by a software update though.....

Like the fascinate? The charge? Actually the charge was fixed with a software update. It is experience not generalizing. I hope that history doesn't repeat itself because the s3 looks great on paper.....but I have already read a few posts here and at xda about signal problems and apps to sd issues.

Apps to sd is an ics issue. The charge wasnt flagship by any means and neuther charge or fascinate used qualcomm radios they used samsungs own radios

I recently replaced my Samsung Mes w/ a GS 3 and went from 3G to 4G, both through USCC. Since then, my data connection is horrible 50% of the time, and what is even worse is that my phone connection went from great to terrible with choppy calls that are constantly dropping out on me. I find myself missing my Mes if you can believe that. I am in a service area that is supposed to be good to excellent. At first, they thought it was the phone. They replaced the 16gb with a 32gb, because they had no more of the 16gb

So I have had a Galaxy S3 for about 3 weeks. Piece of bad phone.

bad phone: shuts off for no reason and the only way to restart is to pull the battery and do a hard restart.

bad phone: Turns on Wi-Fi for no reason multiple times a day after I physically shut down the Wi-Fi option

bad Phone: Is slower than the Galaxy s2 that my GF has when it come to surfing the web standing in the same location with the same amount of signal.

bad phone: can't detect 4G where 4G is present and there is no option to switch between 3g and 4g like the s2 has.
