Blackberry "today" screen for Droid

Hi folks, have had my MyTouch for two days now and love it. I primarily use it as my business phone and it works very well, more fun than a Blackberry. What I do miss is the Blackberry "today" screen is there anything out there for the Droid with similar capabilities?
Thanks :D

I've never used a Blackberry, so what did the today screen consist of?

there are widgets you can load that will give you that info. there is a widget pure calendar (I think that is the name) that looks really great and gives you a month view. For a Task List there is Astrid I have been playing with that for a few days now but I am not using the built in widget. I am sure you can find other widgets to display mail on your desktop built I have not looked.

I switched from a Curve 8900 to the MT3G last month and ya at first I missed the today screen but navigating to that info on the android OS is so much faster and simpler I have not bothered.

I'm going to sound like a big douche, but that's just because I work with this group of people and I have a Mytouch and another guy has the Droid Eris, and they all call both phones Droids and I try to tell them everytime they are Android phones, but Droid phones, the Droid is made by Motorola and is a name of a phone. Because of Verizon everyone now thinks that the Android operating system is called Droid and its just a big pet peeve of mine. So you have the Android operated Mytouch, perfect, us too.

Anyway, for what you're looking for I think you should try this out, go to the market and search for an app called slidescreen, see if you like the free version and then upgrade to slidescreen pro if you do, there won't be an ad in the pro version, so that means extra screen area. But Slidescreen is a home replacement app here is a list of a lot of them. And it will quite literally transform your homescreen into a completely different set up and it will allow you to keep track of everything that you are wanting.

So try out Slidescreen, see if you like it, if you don't, then just find different widgets by searching for what you'd like a widget for - task = task widget, calendar = calendar widget and a number of different things will come up, give them a try and see how they work.

And again, I'm sorry that I sounded like a loser for the whole Droid thing, I just don't like Motorola and Verizon for their huge ad campaign about the capabilities of Droid, when actually everything but the screen size is actually capabilities of Android! Oh well, please don't hold it against me, I'm a nice guy and am here to help!

That's what I was saying, just with much fewer words.

Douche. :p ;)

Ha, I just absolutely hate Motorola and Verizon for that! They caused so much confusion, making the unknowing person think that only Motorola Droid could do that stuff and all other phones were inferior, I guess that's how they got so many sales, but that just pisses me off about them, so yes, I rant and rave about it and I know I'm a douche about it :D But I don't care.

jfritzs2, thanks for the education. Pretty obvious I'm new to this platform and appreciate any information on this new and exciting platform.
I'll have to check that out sounds pretty cool. So Android is the OS and Droid is just a product name that Verizon uses for that particular phone?
Sidenote: Does anyone know of rumors floating around about the HTC HD2 having Android running on it?

LMAO Actually that's become a pet peeve of mine also, and I'm not even that tech savvy :)

No problem for the info, sorry I sounded probably ridiculous. But yeah you got it - Android = operating system, Droid = Motorola phone with keyboard.

As for the HTC HD2, I have heard somethings about being able to run Android on it from your SD card, but then again, I don't think that will work because it doesn't have Xandroid which allows that within it, so I think its just a rumor. I probably wouldn't get hopes up.
