No jelly bean, because of the number of upgrades side the phone came out, they already are doing ice cream sandwich fire a phone not really making any more money for them, it should drop to a free phone with contact in July or August. Why would they spend money on it to develop jb?

you're assuming. and how do you know the phone isn't making them any money? you got facts to back up anything you said?

Online retailers were/are seeking the spectrum for $0.01 & $19.99 & $29.99 & $49.99 that I have seen, but even these months after it was released, Verizon put it on buy one get one 2 months after it came out... lots of signs they are trying to unload the stock for this phone to get rid of them.

January - March release phone are only to get people to resign contracts and to get people jumping ship from other carriers. The main event phones are June-early November launch.

Why else would they launch a phone like the spectrum with fantastic specifications, but mostly the same old hardware that has been around for almost 2 years, 2-3 months before announcing new devices running the next generation of chipsets? (Specifically the S4 Cpu)

I was in a VZ store the other day and it was the main advertised phone... probably because it's price cut to $99.

And as for the 'it's not selling so it's not getting an upgrade', I'm sorry, but that's bullshit. The Razr has copious amounts of advertising and they didn't get their updates pushed until yesterday: Motorola, Verizon Finally Release ICS Update for Droid RAZR, RAZR MAXX

Not trying to pick a fight here, I just think we are only getting one update, 4.0 or 4.1 not both. I'll be happy with either and I'm not expecting another after it, not from LG or Verizon.

From what I've read on this site and others, it is normally the carrier that vetos the upgrades.

There must be a reason why the phone shipped with 2.3, how many Verizon phones sell in the store with ICS right now? (6 months after the spectrum launched)

Definitely and I apologize if my response was a bit gruff. I really think LG should have launched this phone with ICS on it, but for whatever reason (probably kernel or HAL issues) they went with GB since they had it on all their other phones already. Seriously, it feels like they took the GB build they had for the Nitro, changed some libs and then dumped it on our device... it doesn't feel like it's been properly tuned and tested for our device.

I also think the carrier influence with LG phones isn't as important, since all you need to do is get the LG tool and you can flash the stock rom FROM LG, bypassing Verizon altogether; you can't do that with Motorola... it takes an act of Congress to get the damn SBF files for deving.

So to me, this was all LG's decision. That said, they had 6 months. I expect their version of ICS to be FLAWLESS and not the glitched-out, bear of an OS that their GB version is. If it's not and if we have the same issues as now, I'm probably going to dump this phone and go back to Motorola. I can appreciate the sometimes buggy nature of Android phones (kinda like a PC), but the issues we've had are ridiculous.

heard Verizon say that they have the update in their servers...take that with a grain of salt, but good to know it's at least still being worked on. Hopefully it'll be out soon. Should do wonders for this phone

It does, it's ridiculously fast, and smooth, messed with it for about five minutes and was in love, if I could return back to stock w/ no problem I would just to get on it.

i feel that VZW and LG are obligated to release ICS at this point. My only issue now is that it may not be as polished as it should be and may be just as buggy as our version of GB

I hope not. Like I said in another thread, our os feels like they took the os for Nitro and did some slight mods rather than build us a unique, polished rom. Given they've had a 6 months, they *should* have a polished version of ics.
