I have never rooted an Android phone before, and so I was pleasantly surprised to find out how easy it was to root my Lucid. However, being new at this, I deleted the stock music app, and now in the notification panel the music controller just sits there uselessly. I've tried reinstalling the music.apk file into /system/apps, and I've successfully got the apk in there, but it's not installing. I saw somewhere that the APK needs rw-r-r permissions, but with rooted Super Manager, I can't alter the permissions besides owner. I altered the permissions on the associated .odex file accordingly, but it still doesn't work.
So, my questions are:
1. Is there a way that I can get this to install?
2. If I remove my root and do a factory reset, will the music app be back?
or
3. Is there a way to alter the phone to simply remove that music controller in the notification panel?
P.S. Before anyone asks, no I do not have a nandroid backup or any backup of any sort.
