Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Good morning everyone! Coming back to work off a mid-week day off is pretty weird. Don't like it too much.

Hope everyone had an enjoyable day off and did some BBQing, Beer and relaxing.

Funny story - read that last night in San Diego Bay, they launched 20 minutes worth of fireworks in the span of 9 seconds in a huge 4th of July firework failure. This is what it looked like.

Good morning all, I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday yesterday and hope all of the family was off work. Wife and I got up early and exercised... she ran and I rode. I went to the workshop after that as I'm putting the finishing touches on my FPV helicopter. A friend came over in the afternoon and we went to town on the grill. I cooked a rack of ribs, some chicken quarters, asparagus, corn, peaches, and bell peppers... all on the grill. The ribs were basted in Bone Suckin' Sauce and the chicken was marinated in a vinegar-based sauce that a friend game me the recipe for. The chicken sauce was a little too hot (too much black/crushed red pepper) but we know for next time. I have to admit, the ribs turned out perfectly. The grill melted most of the fat off and they were fall-off-the-bone tender. Molly the dog enjoyed them too. And, of course, there was plenty of cold beer to go around.

Back to work today. We're going to the Honda dealership after work to see if we can afford a new car for my wife. We're ready to be away from her Mini Cooper S and into something larger. That, and not a pain the arse to get serviced.

@Copacetic, glad to hear all is okay after your deer and bat incident. I've lived in NC for a long time and have had plenty of close calls with deer but never had a collision *knocks on the desk*.

Hey Pup, I know right? They say to look in the chrome store for alternative ways to get your info, but I like my iGoogle page :(. Have you noticed version 20 of chrome us slower?

I'm on Firefox at work and my laptop at home is really a glorified doorstop, so I wouldn't notice a performance difference there.

I really just use iGoogle for organizing links for things I am interested in.

Good morning Gnexers! :D

Just a quick note to say hi and I'm off to attend to my Guidely duties... still rocking Jelly Belly 1.9 and loving every minute of it ( except that, being out here in the sticks, very few cards are going to pop up for me in Google Now :( ).

@Captain Ron: Let me know when you're up & running JB and what you think. The rest of you still on ICS... you have a great upgrade coming to you!

Pup, we know Verizon pushes upgrades and updates out at ludicrous speed

I would be shocked - SHOCKED! - if Nexus sees JB before Halloween... if ever. They want you to buy a new JB phone, not upgrade the one you have (even though we have a year left on contract).

So I think Nexus 7 wins that race.

EDIT: GRRRRR!

Well, I defy Apple fangurl and Judge Lucy Koh to hunt down every ROMmed Nexus and install that patch ;)

Hmmm, just got a notice on iGoogle home page, iGoogle will not be available after November 1, 2013. Guess I need to explore more options in Chrome Web Store to set up my home page to my liking.

Nooooo, I have seven pages setup with rss feeds and links.:banghead:

Me too. Really ticks me off.

Had some time to search for alternatives yesterday. The mobile version ends THIS MONTH!

Tried Pulse and NetVibes, but they are too loaded with graphics and detail, too much overhead. I want something clean and SIMPLE like iGoogle. Only solution I found was what I used before iGoogle - My.Yahoo. I left them because they put an ad on the page, but I just arrange the columns to isolate the ad and minimize it's impact.

Can't believe Google is dumping this app. There is already a petition somewhere to save it, but if it doesn't make a buck for Google, they will abandon it for sure

Have fun! I'm probably one of the few people that finds car shopping fun (don't ask me why). As a four-time Toyota owner, I just traded in my Camry a few weeks ago and bought a Hyundai. So far, I'm really happy with it, and it was priced comparably to the Toyotas and Hondas, but with more options, so I was actually able to get a nicer car for the same $$. And a 10 year/100,000 mile warranty doesn't hurt either!
