Root Bootloader Re-lock

Basicly same as turning it s-off,but a different command in gfree. Since there is not a signed ruu for you to flash after, that complicates things as well.

Do you need to turn in your phone for warrantty? Why do you want s on?

Yess is for warranty!! my phone keeps getting very hot and it keeps rebooting!!!. I will like to know the steps on how to do it!! :(

ok. have you tried running your stock ruu and then doing a factory reset in hboot? maybe try that, and make sure its not some sort of setting or software issue.

i will try and get a guide up in the next couple days. since there is no signed ruu for you to run after s-on(the ruu you made is not signed by htc,and wont work with s on :() so there will be a couple extra steps to get you s-on and on open mobile firmware

sorry,i was just coming here to let you know i havent forgotten about you!

since you have made such good progress by yourself, and figured out how to use gfree to do what you need it to,ill go ahead and give you some advice on how to get it accomplished.

-at this point youll need to re-temp root and run gfree again to get s-off. you dont have to run -f,if you dont want, just s-off.

-now,install your s-off eng hboot on the vzw firmware(as a PD42IMG). now you can turn the radio secure flag back on,but still have the advantages of being s-off with the eng hboot(the eng hboot is basically ignoring the radios crys that it is s-on)

-run gfree again. turn s-on,fix CID if needed.

*now your hboot still says s-off,becasue of the eng hboot. your radio should be s-on,as long gfree gave you the same results:
patching secu_flag: 1
Done.

-now you need to remove the .88 hboot from your stock ruu,and place it into its own PD42IMG file(with android info document). *this is important

-flash the stock RUU,less the hboot,FIRST

-after that flash is successful, THEN you can flash the hboot-only file.

you have to do things in that order,as once your s-on,you can no longer flash unsigned-by-htc files. and i do not believe you can flash the whole ruu at once,as the preupdate check will flash the hboot and radio, then realize that the rest of the software is not signed, leaving you stuck with a security warning that will be difficult for you to remove without a signed RUU that is compatible with your CID.

a word of WARNING:
i havent tested this. its possible that the eng hboot is not compatible with the old vzw firmware, and bad things could happen when you flash it(i dont think so,but i dont know)

i also dont know what will happen when you run gfree with the eng hboot in place. again,i dont think anything bad,but idk for sure. if gfree wont run with the eng hboot, there is another way to install it after, but ill hold off on that for now.

i have been racking my brain for a couple days now, trying to figure out the fastest, easiest method for you guys without signed RUUs. if you wish to wait for me to test it i will.

if you do decide to procede, let me know how it works out. again, just make sure you flash the NO HBOOT file FIRST!

also some more kudos to you,as this would not be possible at all without your discovery, and sharing of the eng hboot

ive got to get ready for work, but ill try and watch if you have any questions :)
