Get 2.1 from motorola europe?

So Europe has got it.... Awesome. :(

Just like with everything, Europe gets technology before the states... Especially with phones. Cell phones in Europe usually come out about a year before their American counterpart is released.

Uh... video games generally come to America several months to a year (or even more!) before Europe gets them. Also, would you like everything to have to be RoHS-compliant? Sure, the environment is awesome, but lead-free solder causes issues and is a pain in the butt to work with. The RRoD was able to be fixed sometimes by heating the 360 a lot because that melted the crappy lead-free solder Microsoft used.

Also, we've had the 2.1 update for weeks. I can't stress this enough. The official 2.1, and you don't even need to be rooted to get it (but it's stupid not to root your Droid). You download RSD Lite on your computer and flash the SBF file to your Droid. It takes maybe 30 minutes to download it and 5 minutes to flash.

Not that I don't agree with what you say, but most companies produce one version of a product. This being the case, most of the goods the US gets are indeed RoHS compliant. For example, I worked for a video card company, and all of our products where RoHS complaint since they where sold to end users in EU, as well as OEM's, who sold finished product outside the United States (ie. Alienware)...

Don't get me wrong, I understand warranties and all, but all this 2.1 talk is ridiculous to me. If you want 2.1 you can get VERY stable versions of it (or the leaked update). I absolutely believe the developers working on "official" updates are way behind. Or maybe it's the management, I dunno.

Please tell me if I'm way off, maybe I don't get it.

No, you're right, you have been able to get official 2.1 for almost a month now. Don't let the people in this forum that don't read and like to complain about nothing let you think you're wrong.
