Help Update caused phone to freeze up?

Has anyone else had this problem, and can offer any tips?

My LG Optimus M was working fine (except a delay issues with text messages) so I figured I would check for updates (I already have the 2.2 installed).

During the "updating" part there was a problem with communication and the process halted.

Now, my phone is frozen on a "S/W Upgrade, Do Not Unplug" screen, won't turn off (I have to remove the battery, but when I reinsert it, the same screen comes up). I've tried to re-start the update, that doesn't work, and I can't seem to do a factory reset.

Any ideas (or is C-4 my only option at this point?)

You can skip the step that says to put the phone into emergency mode with the key combination because you are already in that mode

It should also be noted that C4 is a military grade explosive, and as such, is not obtainable in the open market.
