I am undecided on which one to get. About 2 weeks ago i was 100% towards the n1 but now since the incredible is coming to play I have no idea. I like the trackball because of notifications but that won't be the deciding factor. What do you recommend or what you getting?

I got the N1 because I wanted updates directly and quickly from Google.

IMO, the N1 is not only the most advanced mobile device available right now, it has the most potential of staying that way the longest thanks to it being Google's baby. IMO, the Nexus is the "ahead of the curve" device right now.

I would buy it again. In fact, I did. I have two now after buying the original launch device and now the att 3G version.:)

Hope this helps and good luck with whatever choice you make!!!

The Nexus one and here's why.
Look at the poor hero which has sense. It is STILL running what? 1.5? 1.6?

Nexus one will always be the first to get the update because its not google that handles the update on the other phones, it's the manufacture. Google just produces the OS, and it's up to the carrier to optimize it. The nexus one however, will likely be Google's test subject and the OS will usually be built for it because it is Googles OS. SO while the bravo is on 2.1 we will be on 3.2 or something.
You can also root it and add HTC sense to it. Thats what mine is currently on ;)

(And btw, doesn't the incredible have that awkward chin?)

do you think there will be problems with the verizon n1? because i read all these stories and i don't want to happen lol
From what I heard after the migration to ATT it has more problems (AMOLED color inconsistencies). However, we have yet to hear reports of self-cracking screens and dust under the screen.

Truth in Advertising: I just bought an N1 for AT&T so I have a vested interest in reassuring words.

That said, I've been doing this a long time (not as long as some)-- Palm since 2002,Nokia-Symbian and now this. Forums always preset and exaggerated picture of the problems, particularly after a new release because, by and large, people come to forums to report problems. In almost all cases, they are real but not actually common or wide spread. Researching a device is always an exercise in anxiety because of this. However, chances are, your device will be fine and, if not, that's what warranties are for.

I'm just saying. :)

I think there might not be much of a choice for many people, if the deals for the N1 are similar to AT&T's. You might not be able to get the n1 with a family plan and the incredible might be priced less than the n1 for customers who already have verizon.

Also, I would think the problem with the n1's screen would be fixed with the verizon model when it releases (and for new AT&Ts). From what I have read, it's just a sensor issue which shouldn't be hard to replace for new models.

If the n1 has about the same price and plans though, it's just going to be preference on looks most likely, unless you use the camera a lot.

You mean the calibration issue? Then no, it's a software problem: rooted users on custom ROMs report that the issue crops up much less frequently, and for some ROMs, it's disappeared entirely. I suspect it's a drivers thing or possibly something in the kernel, since all N1 custom ROMs run on .32-.33 kernels whereas stock N1 (including the one compatible with AT&T's 3G) runs on .29.

Well the debate between the Incredible and the N1 is something I thought a lot about last week, and here's what I decided.

The specs are very, very similar. The main differences are the camera, Sense UI, HTC v. Google support, and the space allocated for the installation of apps. What it came down to for me was this:

- I have a nice camera, and tend to use my phone's camera for silly picture messages anyways (and the quality of the images is decreased when doing that...), so there's really no need for an 8MP versus a 5MP camera for me.
- Sense UI can be rooted onto the N1.
- I strongly prefer Google's product support over HTC's. Partially because it's better, partially because I'm a Google fanboy and future employee. ;)
- App2SD fixes the small storage space for apps.
- Any other advantage offered by the Incredible is either matched by the N1 or outweighed by the positives of the N1.

I checked with Verizon and they said " you can keep your family voice plan but will need to add a data plan." I read from many others the rumor that the N1 will force users to leave their family plan and for the Verizon network, that does not seem to be the case.

That is very wrong. It will have 6.6gb of usable storage (not the microSD) and it will have .86gb of usable ram.

Not bloody likely. Stock Android 2.1 comes with .29 kernel, which can only make use of some 200-ish MB of memory. Newer kernels, like .32-.33, can access some 350 MB. Nearly a gig of RAM would be about as useful as duct-taping a dead fish to it, even if you root the thing.

No it will not have 6.6gb of storage.

previous reviews for specs said that there would only be 256mb of ram
now march reviews are saying both 512 to ram and rom, so:

-512 RAM (320mb that you will get access to)
-512 ROM
