No, the specs make the phone...not the user.

what might NOT be incredible to you, may be just fine and completely incredible to me or anyone else. its based off of personal need/want. Not, "Oh this phone has a slightly larger screen so it's better." Oh check it out

EVO nice phone, too bad you won't get service. REAL COOL having a Porsche with no tires or wheels.... A lot of good that will do you.

Everyone chill out, wait for the Incredible to drop.

I am guessing the Incredible will not be announced at CTIA. It just doesn't make sense for them to announce it at the same venue that Sprint releases it's 4G Android device with a bigger screen, same proc and similar specs. Not going to happen is my guess.

This thread should be about 4-5 Thousand pages long before it does actually get released though at this rate. :)

My first post....

I've been following this thread for probably two months.

Very disappointed that Verizon isn't capitalizing on this event (CTIA) to roll out a new handset that can compete. Man, they are really dropping the ball by letting all of these awesome 2.1 handsets go to other carriers.

I work for Verizon's directory company and so am pretty much stuck with them as my carrier....which isn't so bad. Its a great network, and I get a discount.....but my NE2 just came up on Feb 14th, so I've been jonesin' to upgrade my LG Dare (which has served me well) to a new android phone. I don't like the physical keyboard of the Moto Droid and would love the Incredible to be released or for Verizon to get one of the other Handsets that were announced today.

No such luck I guess.

Anyway....this thread has been a hoot, but my hopes for a new phone option besides the Motorola Droid for this month are pretty much dashed I guess.

Will check in tomorrow afternoon to see if something new develops.

Everyone have fun crying yourselves to sleep tonight. :D

Fair enough, but if that's true what did they (Verizon) expect people to think of the Supersonic reveal? That it would be complete shit? We knew the rumored specs of that phone were amazing, so if Verizon were really waiting to announce a day after the SS is announced, then why were there any rumors of them showing something today?

Doesn't make sense unless Verizon seems to know less than their own users on the internet (which at this point I wouldn't be surprised if that were true).

Maybe they planned to announce(edit) it tomorrow all along?

It's verizon, they know if they have a phone that is top of the line (or right there with all the other top end), it will make news and it will sell.

Verizon seemingly always operates on their own rules and we keep paying them, so they have no reason to change.

One thing I'm 99% sure of, is that whether they announce it today or tomorrow... The release date is going to be the same for all of us.

It sucks I wasted today like all of you, but in the end, who cares, we are still going to get one hell of a phone.

Admit it dude. I want the phone as bad as you do. But to deny we are a bunch of losers is a mistake. Most of us have wasted our day or spent most of the day refreshing this page over and page waiting for news.

Outside looking in, you can't help but feel like you've been rick rolled and been had.

By who? Verizon didn't say they would announce the Incredible today, neither did HTC. Everyone is going on speculations and rumors and getting pissed when they don't pan out. Guess what, they are RUMORS!

I heard of a device that had a 25 megapixel camera that was going to come out in two weeks. You gonna b*tch at me when that doesn't pan out?

Settle down people, it will come, like Kappy said, there WILL be an Incredible.

"Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon"

So your arguement is that the phone is better because the coverage is better? Haha, awesome logic man...just perfect. I wont direct more energy towards such lack of analytical power.

Jeez everyone calm down! I know we all want this phone and were expecting it to be announced today, but take a deep breath. The damn conference is 3 days long. Of course it makes sense to release it on the 1st day, and the day's not over yet. It's only 3 in Vegas! Regardless, if it's announced tomorrow, that'll be fine and it will make sense if Verizon doesn't want to compete with Sprint's big announcement.

And worst case scenario, it isn't announced at this conference. We have a few people who say it should be in by mid-April. We know of at least 2 forum members who have seen a special box at their Verizon store. It can't be too much longer.

Come on everyone. It's a phone. An exciting, game changing one to be sure. But let's keep some perspective.

Doesn't matter when they release it from now on. Now that the Evo has been announced, the Incredible will be compared to it no matter where or when they announce it.

That's exactly it. VZW has always been a, "well, let's do this and well... that won't work *stalls for a month* ok, let's try again!" Motto. They are in a sense like Valve whereas Valve will release a videogame only when they've worked hard enough on it for it to be the best it can.

I realize VZW sometimes misses their opportunity and ends up coming in last when it comes to phone specs at the time, but it's because they sometimes want the phone to be solid... and make money.

Regardless, I'm hoping tomorrow is the day.

you're a tool.

and that's not my argument. My argument is it isn't entirely based on specs.

My point about the network, is even if the phone is good, the network sucks so you're SOL anyway.

If the Incred. better fits my needs than the evo, than yeah I am going to think the incredible is better. If you feel that way about the Evo, FINE, that's okay too.

It isn't ENTIRELY based off of specs.

The SS might excel in 1 thing and the Incred. in another. Example, the screens. You can't base everything off of specs.

That was your choice dip-shit.

It was probably everybody else's fault when you didn't make the T-Ball team too.

I'm holding out hope for HTC at CTIA. I don't know why it wouldn't be (wasn't) today, but I figure there's no chance of them just not announcing it. I mean, what could be in that last display box that still hasn't been revealed? Are there any other rumored HTC phones that are supposed to drop in the near future? It's not like they'd put *nothing* in the box, and they only put the EVO in one box. I'll give them 'til the end of tomorrow before I get upset -- I think it might even be better to have the last laugh: "Sure, EVO is cool, but it's on a crappy network and it's not going to be out for months. Now, let me show you what's available NOW(ish)!"
