Google - Asus Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 Release Rumors

*** The latest release rumor I have seen mentioned that the Infinity is ready to go, but Asus may be intentionally delaying things for their own market timing needs! Possibly even into August now? Thanks Asus. They know people will be mad but still buy it. However, the store I forced to take back my Prime said that they would not take the hit on all those returns, but the pain will be passed back to Asus. As it should be IMO. If "everyone" that owns a Prime returns it, whether the shortcomings directly affect them or not, maybe Asus will actually take notice?

cnet - reviews- tablets - Asus Transformer Pad Infinity (TF700)

Not sure how many others did this, but I returned my Prime for a full refund after over a month because of the poor GPS and WiFi performance. Asus offering the add-on booster etc then releasing a new tablet to fix those items and add a few upgrades was not really a good response to poor product testing prior to release. People are calling Prime owners the beta testers for the Infinity. So now I join the ranks waiting for the new one to finally hit the stores, and hope they have this ready to go... Going back to the phone, laptop and netbook during this wait makes you really realize how much a tablet was helping your business and also your media needs!

In a poll/vote, I wonder how many people would agree that everyone that beta tested the Prime should get a huge discount and be rushed to the front of the Infinity waiting list for having to set the entire thing up all over again? lol... NGH...

Several recent articles from different sources all seem to agree that they will hit most stores July 16th now... We shall see. I definitely plan to purchase it from a local store with a solid 30 day return policy (just in case).

"Playing with my tablet is like playing with my emotions, Smokey."
"I had to warn you too many times about my tablet, Smokey. You see, it's the principal. There's principalities in the whole thing."

"No Champagne Docking Station? Damn. Y'all ain't never got two things that match. Either y'all got Kool-aid, no sugar. Peanut butter, no jelly. Ham, no burger. Daaamn."

Is anyone else going to use this extra delay to check out the Acer or other tablets?

Abt.com has the 32 GB version for sale on-line for $499 and the 64 GB version @ $599.
They are not quoting a delivery date. Earlier today they were quoting 7-10 days.

I saw that too, but have not had time to go check out the site in detail. There was a post that a guy went to live chat and was told that the time frame was not any type of guarantee, and that the pre-order could be cancelled with no charge to your card any time until it is actually shipped. That made wonder if they were the first to be getting them in stock, or just the first to start taking orders???

ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T 101 Tablet 32GB Gray by Office Depot

I am thinking the 64GB is the better choice for me. But they may have that next? The local store and website has actually had many items over the years that were hard to find or on some unbelievable sale...

* I am on live chat with a rep now...

* They failed the test. I tried to pay extra for 1 day shipping guaranteed, denied. Asked for guaranteed delivery of 7/18 per my cart, denied. They said they can not say when it would actually ship yet. But they could still be one to watch as they came thru for me 1st on items in the past.

* Since I would rather have a 64GB I will wait. They are to contact me about that model within 24 hours. And I have a feeling the BB site/store will pop up with something when their sales/ads change this weekend.

I went on their website and it appears they have the gray available in 32 GB. I want the champagne. On-line chat indicated their purchasing dept will get back to me within 24 hrs. about champagne.
But I spoke to representatives from both Best Buy & Abt, and they stated that ASUS is not committing to any ship dates to them.
The Abt rep. recommended that I look for another brand of tablet if I want a tablet in the month of July.
I hope he's wrong.

Oh crap! I hope they don't really drag this into August... I would prefer the champagne as well, 64GB super sized. And from the little I have heard, I will def wait for the dock that has TF700 on the side of the box. Although it seems the USB ext, card reader and car charger will all be fine.

This website is reporting that ASUS has actually moved the release date up to Sunday. (07/15)
This really does not make any sense, unless they asked all of their retailers not to take pre-orders, even though they already have inventory.
Does anyone know how the Prime went when it was first released? I read where ASUS didn't have sufficient inventory to stock the pipeline when it was first released, but were retailers taking pre-orders?
