Do you think the EVO will be compativle with existing data plans?

I'm thinking there may be some tweaking of plans in the next few months to accomodate the 4G device. Nothing confirmed or rumored to pass on yet, but I'll keep my ears open. It's been a while since the plans were changed around, it's time for some mixing up of services. :) Just to confuse us all again.
Well considering some people have multiple lines and some phones are probably not 4g it's gonna be difficult to make plans to fit around it one would think. Not to mention not all areas have 4g yet. So why would someone pay for a 4g services and a plan when they dont have it yet?

Shouldn't be too hard. All it would take is changing some codes. The plans we have now work with both Sprint and Nextel phones, so why not a 4G phone? And the 4G Connection Cards are available for people that don't live in a 4G area, they just run on 3G when not in a 4G area, and is the same price as the 3G only plan.

I can't imagine what they'd tweak on the plans (maybe offering an Everything Messaing Share and Everything Data Share 700 plan?), but it would be the logical time to mess with plans with a new phone being released.

yea there is a video already of one guy accidently trying to show youtube on 3g and going to the home screen to turn 4g on so it'd work better i think it was a slashgear vid

I beleive you are right, I too saw this video and will continue to watch for every other video that comes. I just posted a comment on the home page where a sticky was posted regarding a possible pricing plan was to be released tomorrow.

I can't see Sprint chargeing more for 4G by coming in with a blanket pricing plan for all 4G phone users. I mean, it'll be the 1st 4G phone Sprint and would only be shoting themselves in the foot if they were to do so.

Talk about leaving a bad taste in your mouth. I'm as frugle as most of us Sprint users and thats why I enjoy Sprint, don't punish me and others with a plan that only a few can utilize, not unless you wish your 1st 4G phone to fail. It would be like the Pre, only a select few can get it because it's only on Sprint, now Sprint wants to cut the numbers of those that can and will purchase the phone even more... I don't see it happening.

I truly feel voice plans will be obsolete. As I mentioned in another reply; I could see data plans replacing voice plans. 5gig cap being the equvalent of a 450 min voice plan and from there incress the cap and price accordingly.
