Hi,

For some reason, my i9000 running Android 2.3.6 has an older unlock pattern theme(images attached). While a couple of my friends who own i9000's(that are running previous versions of android) have a newer unlock pattern theme(same as the theme in the linked images below).

Is it possible to manually update my unlock pattern's theme?

Screen captures from phones running Gingerbread:

Just enter 5 random patterns until the Forgot Pattern button shows down the bottom. Tap it and, use your google account details to allow you to reset your unlock pattern. :)

Now, is there anybody out there that can help me with my unlock pattern theme.

Are you positive you are all using the same i9000? With firmware changes, it may be quite difficult to use a different theme. There are apps out there to theme your lock pattern as well; and with root there are even more options.

Welcome Corey. Which version of the SGS1 do you have? Are you positive you do not have a Gmail account tied to your phone? Generally, when starting up Android for the first time it will prompt you to enter that info. You don't have to use Gmail at all, but it helps for backing up app data, contacts etc to your Google account.
If you don't recall your Gmail info, you may have to do a factory reset and start over again.

In the settings, you have selected "Pattern Unlock", you can change it

Settings--> Location and Secutrity -->Set Screen Lock

Depending on which firmware you have, you can install some mods to change the lock screen / unlock type.

BTW: CorKHeaD1774 already told that he did not configure any Gmail account on his SGS.

Sorry about that, I don't know how I missed that.

I have a European i9000. It's the same as my friends' ones.

It doesn't matter anyway, I'm getting an s2 from a friend that recently picked up an s3 for free from vf.
