How many people know for a fact that Verizon's network is really that much more superior? I mean how many have used all the other networks to know that Verizon is just so much better that there is no other possible choice? I can tell you for fact that Verizon claims coverage where they do not have it. Verizon is great at tell us how much better their network is. So much so that we seem to believe there is no other network to choose.

Personal anecdotal only. Here in Phoenix (big, wide city) I do know of people who switched FROM other carriers and are much happier with VZ service here

I am not trying to be a debbie downer, but it worries me that Vzw knew or had some idea that Sprint was going to do something huge and yet did not even make an appearance at Ctia, i mean they don't have a booth! I question there commitment to providing their customers with the best phones, and so what if Htc announces the Incredible tommorow, Vzw wont be there! It just doesn't make sense to me, at MWC they did the same thing and really the only thing they released was a friggin $30 dollar phone, this is a competing smartphone market, this is 2010, Apple, HTC google are in a legal war because of smartphones and Vzw is relasing Lg cosmos, that irritating! I pride myself on being loyal but this is rubbish... Whether or not the Incredible is released i will still not be happy with the way Vzw handled this. Sprint owned them, and will probably own them tommorow when the rest of America, who don't watch Ctia closely like we do find out about this.

Well, if HTC/V can't get this phone out, Motorola is slated to have the Shadow out this summer and the Droid 2 this fall/winter...

The only problem is that I want the Sense UI.

So in other words you are contemplating switching away from a rumored, unreleased device that disappointed people today to another rumored unreleased device that is supposed to be here a few months from now?

Ok so i left my computer for like 10 minutes and started thinking about options.
I thought about the Moto Shadow and how it is rumored to come to VZW in the summer time. Now we know that Verizon has some weird relationship with Motorola for some reason. Motorola has debuted their Razr on there and had the DROID as a flagship phone. So they obviously get a lot of love from VZW. Why else would a company advertise the Devour on the Superbowl? That's a lot of money. When the DROID came out, it was hyped up and released with the unknown Droid Eris.

What if VZW is planning on doing this again? What if they plan on releasing the Moto Shadow in the summertime and the Incredible along with it?? Itd be like a DROID and Eris relationship?

EDIT: the moto shadow could very well compete with the EVO being it has a 4.3 inch screen and hdmi out support
I actually believe that's what will happen, the Shadow will go up against the HTC EVO, both have very similar specs 4.3" screens HDMI etc and the Shadow is suppose to come out in May/June but then the question is when will the Incredible come out I don't see two big phones coming out around the same time.

I'm pretty certain they have a booth.

Maybe the Incredible is going to be under clocked and the Shadow will be superior?

I've had my Treo 650 this long. What's the big deal with another two months? It is just that the longer this is delayed the closer to release of the Shadow.

Besides, I said that I prefer to have a phone with the Sense UI.

Dammit, I really want to shut up my ignorant co-workers that have their precious iphones saying it will always be the best phone ever..

But verizon is making it hard for me to do so..

Take solace in the fact that they wouldn't be convinced anyway. Not that iPhones are bad or I have anything against them, but Apple products are too "hip" to be criticized by the general public!

something is up because about a week ago I did a search on Verizon's website of "incredible" and "HTC INcredible" and both searches came back with nothing.

TODAY I did a search of "Incredible" and the HTC Touch Pro 2 came up. That was strange to me...I did not say HTC I simply typed INcredible.

NOw either this is a place holder or the Verizon folks and HTC folks want to capitalize and have people who are tired of waiting for the INcredible to consider the Touch.

Lets hope tomorrow is a better day!

ya know....the Incredible...or whatever it will be called...best be...well...awesome because Sprint really did come to market in a serious way. The only thing, for me personally, is who can get their phone to market the soonest...and...who really has the better phone. I'm already satisfied with Sprint in my market...and with 4G here (WiMax in my area)...it's getting difficult to say that Verizon is in my future. My fear...especially for you who are very loyal to Verizon is that they are going to miss the boat. Still..there are way too many rumors and quite a bit of hype about the Incredible...so it will probably work out fabulous. Tough day!

They do indeed have a booth, 1034.
International CTIA WIRELESS 2010

As someone else mentioned, since Sprint released the EVO, which looks quite Incredible, it is quite possible that Verizon was going to release it today, but saw that Sprint had an event lined up, and would rather release it when they have the press to themselves.

As an east coaster, it certainly makes it harder to make it through the day refreshing Engadget every 15 minutes hoping for something good.

Man, I have the Palm Treo 750, and it seems dated. I get made fun of when I pull out the stylus.

Verizon has always been slow on the whole phone process compared to other carriers.

Undeniably verizon has the best network but their phone selection ain't so great. Especially when compared to the competition.

Still, lets see if anything happens tomorrow, otherwise.....ill be very :( as well as many of you guys

Are they worse than Sprint with regard to bringing new phones to market? If they are...they can't be much worse! :D
