Root How to Swap your PRL on LG Optimus Elite

Hello everyone I decided to make another guide on how to change your PRL. I did not make this guide and I take no credit, I simply edited it and reposted it here for the LG Optimus Elite.

For anyone who does not know what a prl swap is or does, it tells your phone what towers to use. It should increase your signal a bit, especially if you roam much.

Step 1 - Getting your MSL

Ok on your android lets go to google play store and download any wifi tethering app and run it. This will mess your phone up making an error code 67 keep popping up, to fix this we need to call Virgin Mobile 1-888-322-1122. Tell them you downloaded a wifi tethering app and you keep getting an error code 67, They will have to give you your MSL code to factory data reset your phone, make sure you write it down.

Step 2 - Download USB driver

Download driver, then install, then restart your computer. I'll wait.....

today was the first time i left my house to test it after i switched to 60687 and went to work which i previously had no service in and started getting 3g tonight, i also did build.prop tweaks, and tested my wifi tethering on my pc last night because the internet went out. The pages loaded pretty fast, and i could watch videos a little slow but not bad

wish i had an answer for that, the only method i know of is on the guide, i think your expecting to much considering it is just a 3g phone but im not positive i am no expert, just make sure it is a sprint prl not a verizon or anything else. But i will say after doing this and build.prop tweaks my signal has increased

Hey, I update my plr to 22081, and it's way better where I live(southwest Missouri). Full bars, 3g is faster, all that jazz. Here it is if anybody wants to test it out. It's by far the best for me, I'm pulling 700kb/s all day -

Wowww, so after the new prl, and tweaking my build.prop a little bit, I've got download speeds up to 1mb/sec! The new prl is in my last post and ill add the build.prop tweaks here. Make sure that if you have netspeed tweaks already, that you delete them, and then add these. Also, if you update to the new prl, give it about fifteen minutes to adjust to the new one. It will be slow for the first bit,and then you should see some speed. And this might not work for everybody, it just happens to be good for me.

crap, sorry. Maybe it just works awesome in southern Missouri. You can just revert back to your previous netsettings with the build.prop editor I made, and then whatever prl you had before should be good to put back on.

ive tried these on the v and the elite. hasnt done anything for me,other than being a waste of time lol.

Not sure if it's helpful, and this was only tested on my home WiFi, but at 60677 for my PRL now, I'm at 86ms Ping, 7,316kbps download, and 3030kbps upload. While I don't think it's supposed to improve wifi connection or speeds, my wifi speed is faster now.

i think these are helpful depending on your location. for me,im not noticing anything but it doesnt mean it does not work for others. just wanted to clarify my earlier comment and no disrespect intended. nice guide and thank you for the contribution.

I don't think this affects WiFi.

Just an update, wifi does perform better (may be unrelated to the PRL switch), but 3G stability has massively positively increased, as well as being able to hold a consistent and stronger signal.

Sadly, at home. (Where I have wifi) My 3G runs about 1.2k down, and 800 M Up. Around town however, I get spotty, terrible 3G. (In Western Colorado, no idea if that helps anything.) I just tried switching from my default 61007 to 61008, and at home I cut my 1.2k down to about 400 M. Not sure if I should poke about town before I switch it to else. Any input to my rambling?

Are these PRL specific for Virgin Mobile? Am I able to use Sprint PRL files that is offered on other forums?

I am from San Francisco and the default PRL 61007 gives horrible data speed. If someone can point me to a good PRL for San Francisco to try that would be great.

stick with the sprint prls non-hybrid and non-4g, not sure about corporate

I installed the usb drivers, rebooted, plug in the phone and set usb debugging on. After it installed a few drivers, I don't see the Ports under Device Manager (Windows XP). Only thing I see related to android is the ADB Interface with Android Sooner Single ADB Interface driver. Any ideas?

Update: Nevermind! Found the fix from another topic that I need to enable diag.

so guys i was just curious if anyone in or near texas has found a good prl for that area but i am currently traveling there for work from virginia was just trying to boost my speeds a little more

I just wrote 60677.prl to the phone and when it boots back up it, after about 10 seconds it reboots itself again. Over and over.
I'm not positive if this is from the PRL or if I did something careless. Oh no.

It must be a bad PRL file floating around or something. I just flashed 61677 and it seems to show a discernible improvement so far.

How hard would it be to swap a prl without a computer. Seems all that's being performed is a flash..... any chance it could be done via a custom app or terminal emulator?
