Hi,

Well the problem which I have is that : - Ive got a Google G1 Which is on T-mobile Network.

Well the problem Ive got is ive inserted my New T-mobile simcard ? And it seems to not work ? When i try to dial out the call just ends.

I get a Msg Ongoing - Says "Call forwarding"
Forwarding all Calls

When I go to settings - Call Settings - Call forwarding I get a Msg saying Network or SIM card error. "This was a brand new simcard aswell"

I've also called T-mobile customer care they tell me that the mobile is blocked ?

Ive emailed HTC Support they have told me the the firmware is corrupt, And asked me to do the following:

To perform the reset:

1. Turn the device off
2. Press and hold the Home Button and the Power button for about 20 seconds until you see a picture of an Excamation mark and a handset. Slide open the keyboard.
3. Press Alt and L to display the text
4. Press Alt and W to perform the hard reset
5. Once the hard reset process has finished press the Home and Back keys together to reboot the device.

Ive done what HTC have told me to do that didnt still work?

But I've notice when I tryed going into the: Android system recovery utility

Right at the bottom of the screen in yellow font, there is a message saying

E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command

The firmware I have is 1.5

Welcome to AF forums and enjoy your visits !!

Regarding your problem with the phone ... try these two things :

1.) Try your SIM in another phone ,,, (Even new SIMs can be or go bad)

2.) Try someone else's SIM in your Phone...

Calling TMO and making sure that the phone and SIM are properly sync'd is highly recommended ... otherwise your data connection may not work properly.

There is a National Blacklisted/Stolen phone database on the web ... I dont have the link at the moment ... but google should pull it ... you can check for yourself to see of the IMEI is reported as Blocked...

It is possible that the phone is reporting a bad IMEA # or another phone was blocked and the wrong (your ) IMEA # was inserted in error ...

I would suggest that you will need to clear this with your carrier and or get them to replace the phone with one with a Legit IMEA ..

I just got off the phone with t-mobile customer service they now tell me that the IMIE is fine, and the mobile is not reported as stolen or blocked or barred ?

They told me that it could be the G1 with its firmware ?

Im gettin confused here

If you just bought that phone, we all get a free factory warrenty, that's not the same as insurance. It's at least 90 days after purchace, because I've used it. All you do is call Tmoble, ask for tech support. They will tell you to do a few things and if it still doesn't work the'll send you a new phone and or sims card if that's the problem. It will be free of charge, they even pick up the tab for shipping!! So if you've had the phone under 3 months I'd call and try. If it's considered a factory defect of your phone you will get a new one for free. The insurance that you pay for is for more like if you drop it in water, or loose it, or whatever, then you pay 130 bucks for a new phone, witch beats paying 300 plus anyday of the week.
