Help Help, Please. Stuck on White HTC Incredible Screen/Then Green Arrows

Hi Everyone,

I'm hoping someone can help. I bought an HTC Droid Incredible phone. I have been an iPhone user for a couple of years and this is my first non-iPhone smartphone. The HTC Incredible was doing great for a week and then tonight I ended up with a white screen that said "HTC Incredible" and my phone will not boot up and stays stuck on the white "HTC Incredible" screen.

I pulled the battery a couple of times and waited before putting it back in and the phone would still stall on the white screen.

I then held down the Volume Down and Power Button and selected Reboot. That hasn't helped.

I'm not familiar with programming and I didn't have any problems like this with my iPhone and I have no idea how to repair smartphones, but I'm willing to learn how to fix mine.

I appreciate any help or advice!

Welcome to the forums

First try booting into safe mode:
Safe Mode - DROID INCREDIBLE by HTC

If that doesn't help, you may have to do a factory reset. Hold power and volume down when turning the phone on(like you did before). And choose the recovery option... This will take you to a screen with a red triangle and exclamation point, then press volume UP and power, which will give you more options. From that point you can try wiping just the cache (but probably won't help) and rebooting, or use the factory reset and then reboot.

Hi, first thank you for your quick reply and your help. I tried cleaning the cache and then I did the Factory Reset and my phone restarted and it is still stuck on the dreaded white "HTC Incredible" screen.

Any other ideas? I hope this is something that can be fixed since I purchased this phone last week.

Next step would be to try reloading the OS onto the phone. This can be done by following directions found here:

Ignore the stuff about "root" and scroll down to where it says "option 1" and follow the steps below.
