Help Phone not acknowledging SD card, help pls?

Hi

My phone has stopped acknowledging that there is an SD card in there.
The settings ask me to mount an SD card, even though I have powered off my phone, removed my battery and SD card, then re-assembled it and turned it back on, making sure the SD card clicked in the slot.

It shows the presence of the SD card for a few seconds, then when I try to install apps from google play, it says it cannot download the app in the default storage location and the storage settings show no SD card and no GB of storage even though I know my SD card has about 3.8gb on it.

Please can someone tell me what is happening and how to fix it please.

Thankyou.

Hi Apollo

Thanks

The problems seem to have calmed down now.
Maybe it is because I have been deleting some apps, and maybe one of the apps was causing the problem.
I thought about my sd card being faulty and this made my blood boil. Sometimes I feel as if I am coI don't always keep reciepts for stuff like this. I will in future.

I appreciate your answer though.

Hi - EDITED problem solved.

I'm back again.
I notice that the sd card problem happens when I plug my phone into my computer usnig the usb cable.
When the phone is not plugged in, it happily acknowledges the SD card, but as soon as I plug my phone into my computer, it acts as if there is no SD card there.

The problem happens when I tell the phone I am transferring files.
If I just plug it in and not tell it I am transferring files, it seems to happily take anything onto my 4g SD card.

I live and learn. :)
