Help Google Play Music and /sdcard/Music

The help files for Google Play Music say I can copy music files via USB to the tablet and play them.

But if I copy an mp3 file to /sdcard/Music, I can't seem to convince the google play app it is there.

I can tell a file browser to play the file, and it will start google music to play it (foregound only), but I can't start google music and get it to play the file.

The Movies app has a "Personal Videos" tab for playing videos you can stash in /sdcard/Movies, but I can't find anything like that for music.

Anyone know if this is possible?

I haven't loaded up any music yet so I can't test. Have you tried going into settings in the music app and hitting refresh? This may trigger it to search the device for new files.

Good call! Refresh seemed to work, the one file I copied as a test showed up after that. Thanks. (Not that I'll use google play much since 99% of my personal music files are in .wma format which google can't play).
