***Official HTC Incredible Thread***

I still have hope for an announcement tomorrow (probably not a launch), based purely off of the mysterious box and some Verizon tweets.

But if its not, I could still see an April 1 announcement with mid April release, just like NKT believes as well.

I'm like the rest of you, been sitting on my NE2 for well over a year, almost 2, and will jump ship if no phone before EVO drops.

I'd do the same, but I left cingular before they were att. I couldn't stand their customer service. yuck. I love vz's customer service and cellphone service as well. the other guys just don't have the network, and I need the coverage because I do business on my cell. sigh.

The Droid is so 2009, yes it was groundbreaking, but look at the CTIA, it is a huge smartphone market right now, a big oppurtunity for Vzw to capitalize on the excitement over Android and complement thier excellent service with phones to match, there is a reason why people have the iphone, not because att has excellent service but because even though we might not acknowledge it, it is a damn good phone, If verizon can fix this, they will be unstoppable, heck maybe the "when is the Iphone coming to Vzw" will either shut up or go to att, i know that if my contract is up and Vzw has not released a top competitor in this market i will go for the EVO, call me crazy but i wont use a cardboard to get excellent service...

Exactly, if Verizon doesn't learn from the continual beat down month after month from the iphone in sales, that phone hardware is a huge driving factor in subscription, maybe they'll never learn. Seriously your network is great, but Jesus, you need something good to use on it. Just look how good a mediocre phone (DROID) is selling. Put out some first class hardware, and you'd be rolling in the new subscriptions.

I was an Alltel customer before the buyout so I know about getting the latest and greatest months after release.

I could have upgraded in Oct but I held out for the Droid but decided I didn't want another phone with a slider kb. Then heard rumors of the "Passion" and was baited through Nov and Dec. Then my NE2 came up at the end of Dec, but I still waited for the grail. After all the electronics expo's and waiting with baited breath I am let down again with only one day of CTIA left.

My phone took a major crap yesterday So I am bidding on a Diamond on fleabay. I will no longer wait for Verizon to shit or get off the pot. I am done waiting for the technology of today to be released today but instead getting it released months later. So the end of April is V's deadline. Only way I stay is if nobody else releases a phone I want. As much as I want to stay it's like they don't care. So the only way for them to get the hint is to hit them in the pocketbook.

But if they release this phone tomorrow that was all crazy talk. Someone must of hacked my account or something.

Ok so i have talked to many of verizon CSR reps over the phone and online chat, they are really pushing the droid and any time i ask them about the incredible they say virtually the same thing so i am 100 percent convinced that they are told what to say if someone mentions that phone and that something big is around the corner very soon maybe even tomorrow

I agree, but... I've got it kind of easy compared to most. So I really do thinks it sucks for those wanting a new toy.

Just looked back and the Nexus One was released on a Tuesday for both TMobile and ATT. Odds are it'll be a Tuesday for Verizon too then I guess. I know it's not Incredible topic, but I have a feeling a lot of people in this chat may jump on the N1 if it is released with no word available on the Incredible at that time.

I would generally agree, AND... I think MANY will jump on the N1, but I think that most folks in this forum would resist buying a phone if it doesn't have in-store sales/support

This phone should seriously be called HTC Therapy, because if it is announced we will all be hyper-excited and then we will burn out and need it, if it is not, then we are F@#ked and we will be a bunch of depressed phone nerds and will still need it!

HTC Therapy...ha ha good name for it. Maybe we should change the forum name to the Official HTC Incredible Support Group.

Hey guys, I've been stalking this thread from the shadows for about 2 weeks, but have known about the Incredible before that.

Best way to explain this thread so far, a rollercoaster.....

I have enjoyed reading everything in this thread since i've started following it, but its really hard to catch up at work in the morning when 10 + new pages of comments just appear like ninja magic.

As far as this new device goes, I'm disappointed that it hasn't been announced thus far, but I'm not surprised by the way VZW handles things. I really am starving for a new device though, I somehow seemed to have suckered myself into a storm 1 (please don't flame, I flame myself enough for it already lol) and I'm so frustrated with it that I actually have no problem paying the ETF just to get a new device.

My fiance is getting a droid this weekend, because apparently if you are the primary on your line you can magically sign a new 2 year contract when it's halfway over. I do not know how that's possible, but the first time my fiance told me that after she talked to a rep at the store I thought it was BS. However the next time I was there with her and I heard the rep say it with my own ears. This is just across the Mississippi River from St. Louis, not sure if that would be worth checking into for any of you guys . But don't hold it against me if nothing is possible where you are, between my fiance and I we have gone through 5 BB Storm 1's lol, so they might be cutting us a break.

However, the droid for me would be a logical choice, but the hardware is so outdated compared to what's there now, same story with a pre plus (even though webOS is the neatest thing i've played with in a while).

That brings me to the conclusion that I have to wait for this amazing new device to be unveiled, or announced, whatever you want to call it. I really do want this device just like all of you do.

I highly appreciate all the hard work all of you guys have done with getting a hold of the roms and all the tweet searching you did and even barking at @htc and @vzwoffers enough that they are actually responding back to us now lol. Keep up the good work and here's to hoping for an announcement!

The HTC rep arrived in town this evening and didn't stop by a single store. He just texted the Verizon managers saying to expect to see him tomorrow at some time. The only other tidbit I picked up was that the box was scheduled to be delivered on Saturday but due to weather, Fed-ex just dropped it off on Sunday. I kinda figured that might have been the case. It's really no big deal for them to do that when weather is the delaying factor - at least up here. So there goes the "secret Sunday delivery" thought. I hope to have something more to post tomorrow. This damn box is fast becoming the bane of my existence!

For all you "old timers" (and by old timers I mean having been around these parts since December), back in the HTC Passion subforum days, before they split off the Incredible, I do recall a Verizon employee, who had contact with an HTC rep, posting quite a bit sometime after Xmas before the 1st of the year. His rep basically told him the Incredible would be hitting big red in April. He basically stopped coming around these parts, but I can't help think that he was dead on 3 months ago. Nash, do you remember the poster? Actually, I think he was on the Verizon subforum.

No, I really don't. I never went in the Verizon sub-forum. Just the Passion one. And man, did we have some good times in there. haha

Why should we expect a big Verizon announcement? A lot of us waited for the touch pro 2 and it was release only online and with no fanfair. They even ran out of stock for weeks. I called the first morning and the first phone rep didn't even know they had released it. Then the Omnia II was rumored to have many release dates and then it just showed up. The Omnia II forum was just as big as this minus the red tape boxes. How many ad banners did you see you see? Verizon always has a pet phone style they push. Forever it was the Blackberry's. Any blackberry that came out was advertised weeks early and now they have turned to the Droid for the pet phone to push. Incredible will be a great phone and will raise the bar but, I think Verizon feels it's just another phone. I would love to know who Verizon's ad execs are. They some times make we wonder if they understand smartphones phones based on what they spend the ad money on. Think back to just a few years when us on Verizon had the bottom of the barrel in smart phones. It seemed like everyone else was getting the best and we would get them months later. I think Verizon has made a huge head way in their smartphone line up but I feel it is only because they see that additional $30.00 a month revenue. I totally feel that this phone will just appear one day. At lease my wife hopes so she can have my touch pro 2.

Given all the prattle on the web about the first 4g phone for sprint,and the fact that now verizon claims that 1/3 of the country will be lte by the end of 2010, maybe,... just maybe, they want to be the first lte phone since they will be the first lte ready system.
That should yank the rug out from under the first 4g b.s.
