Root Making ICS ROM For Connect/Esteem (Read it!)

First of all no matter what this guy is doing at least he's doing something I don't see anyonr else working on an ics build so if he said he's doing it we just have to wait and see and just support it I am looking forward to playfulgods build Wich I really hope he can bring to our phones no pressure I know he's busy and this stuff takes time if were Gina do it right hope to see ur work man and thanks to all rom builders and developers

I can tell you by what he has posted, his is just a themed over stock or BO.

ahh come on man u gotta give pg more credit than that...lol the man is amazing when it comes putting roms together and I know once he gets the esteem figured out it shouldn't take him long to figure out the connect, as long as he is still willing, as I know that he and the rest of u awsm devs don't have an easy job figuring these phone's out and also have personal lives as well. I would love to b one of the testers when the time comes for the connects CM9 version but no hurry of course it'll get done when it gets done. I got nothin but time and a hole lot of respect for all the devs here without y'all our phones would b nothing more than stock bloated POS'S so thanks a billion guys and gals

This guy was just determined wasn't he? Lol. I was hoping for the best as I was reading (I have the attain) and a straight forward answer just wouldn't come. Ppl wouldn't be so skeptical if you just say hey, I'm gonna optimize some ish, throw a launcher in this itch, theme the uck out of this itch. And make it look as close to ics as possible. A themed rom, can also be a rom. Its just themed with minor changes. The ppl just wanted honesty. We had a case of this in the admire forums where a guy kept screaming he built ics when in the end he used my boys theme and changed the android version in the setting. Just a word of advice. Just tell it how it is next time and the skepticism won't get shot at you like it did in this thread. With that said. Good luck with future projects and I wish u the best

Maybe the op was making a ics rom , a theme, or maybe he was just bsing. No one really knows but the fact you guys were putting him down saying all these negativity might had made him quit. To all of u dev, ya should of been more supportive as a fellow dev. I don't hear anyone else questioning PG. I know PG has experience in rom cause we obvious seen his work but ya shouldn't question op cause ya never heard of him or his work.

Well if you reread my post I was trying to help the OP be more clear in what and how he was doing things, and how he presented himself, so ppl wouldnt be so sceptical. Dont think I've really said anything negative.

Sorry I have been quiet. I gave the ICS rom to 2 others (beta) and it all the testers have it working perfectly . Though the 3G signal bars are a bit unstable and the dialer has a few segments misplaced and the phone will support any ICS apply from the market with gingerbread compatibility mode. More info on that soon. I am sorry that I am not posting change logs. Expect the rom to be this month or August. Shouldn't take more . Now after the final release. I will make the ics rom website with apk downloads of every stand app like calculator and camera. They will ask be a Bloatware-B-Gone app on the website that removes all apparel except standards and Google play. Continuing ICS

With him just cooking and theming about the only thing he could provide is pre-release tests roms to select members of this section, so they can post up feedback etc and/or screenshots of current ui etc.

You can tell from the prior changelog where he said he pulled the various apps/launcher that this isn't a build from source.

Great News , The testing has had its fails and its glory , and I have finally found a way to keep the filesize low and nice ,

I want a little question , Would you wait 1-2 weeks more to get a jellybean ROM instead of a ICS Rom?

Also The Beta has all the apps finally stable with no issues , Fixed the "Cannot Connect To Camera" issue for people running Broken Out ROM or even stock , Launcher ported from Galaxy Nexus and edited with a few settings and options ,

One downside , Im not sure for you but for me it is not bad , After you install the ROM it will lower your Pixel Density (DPI) to 180 , instead of the standard 240 , so You will have everything smaller , it happens so you get the Galaxy Nexus , almost experience and it will come with a LCD Density app , I warn you all

If you change it on the LG Connect (Density) Dont go into the 140-160 areas or even lower , Your phone will work and after you turn it on from standby , Massive lag! 180 is medium and no lag , so it is the best way currently to get smaller icons and it looks a lot better

Also , System Apps Replaced by ICS Ones ( Backup your current apps if you like them like the default calender)

I have screenshots and I will post them next time I log in , I will give proof of my work , also , the lockscreen is ICS but in the system settings , There is a lockscreen option , and you can switch to the Jellybean Lock screen , Face unlock also in settings!

Gestures to unlock as well....

The file size at this moment is 156 MB , Which I find ok , while others might not , Tell your opinions about the size , I am sorry I don't have much time , I want to provide this and then start making my own projects and games for the Play Store...

ICS Rom (LG Connect) (Sorry , I kinda ditched the LG Esteem for a long time)
Size : 156 MB Currently
Installation Time (In Recovery Mode with ROM Manager) : 5 minutes estimated
First Boot : 3 minutes
Average boot time without extra apps : 24 seconds
Changes : Way too many , Lets say over 50 changes that make it better than the ICS you find on smartphones from Google and ETC ....

News - Wont take long now to finish...
