my Widgets have been disappearing lately...

Hey guys,

So I've had a look but nothing has been discussed recently regarding the HTC Desire HD and its disappearing widgets...

Mine is 18months old and I've recently seen widgets just disappearing from my sense screens (recently as in the last month)

Scenario;

widgets work fine
used to start an app such as a game
after finishing playing game my widgets I personalise are gone

Widgets effected:
Favourite contacts feed/page
Bookmarks list feed/page
full text messages widget
Multicon widgets
Google Search bar widget

I'm on the latest build for my HTC Desire HD and this has only been happening recently,

android version 2.3.5,
HTC Sense Version 3.0,
software version; 3.13.61.5

it seems a restart does not solve the problem, I can re-apply my Multicon Widgets but they remain dead even though you can see them, they don't work when you click on the icons

it only seems to be fixed after a full power down ie: turn off, remove battery, remove SD Card, remove SIM Card

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

thanks

You could try clearing the Data and Cache for HTC Sense (it's under All Apps in the Applications part of Settings). I had problems with my phone restarting Sense on odd occasions and doing this solved the problem. The reason why I'm wondering whether this might help you is because its what 'knows' about your screen layouts. After clearing the data and cache you'll have to re-build all the screens, so it might be worth grabbing screen shots first, to help you remember what goes where. It might be a red herring, but it only takes ten minutes so could be worth trying.

Hi there thanks for the response! I'll give it a try, though I had a question, how do I do screenshots? I don't think the phone has the functionality out of the box, is there an app I should get?

that is AWESOME thanks for that mate, I'll give this a try probably later tonight, I use multicon ALOT as I am not a big fan of trawling through the app menu to find the ones I want, I prefer to have the icon of just the apps I want on one of my sense screens, so resetting and having to do the screens all over again is a big pain in the ass lol
