Still on the fence, iPhone vs. DROID?

I love when fanboys talk shit about how secure Apple is.

For all of you that are sick to death of the Apple fanboy rant.. this one is for you.

iPhone Hacked in 20 Seconds at Pwn2Own

That is comparing two separate things. After all, the commentary above was targeting the Apple App Store, and not the locked down aspect of the iPhone.

Say what you will about it. It shows a major kink in the Apple suit of armor.

It shuts up the fanboys from saying, "Nobody can get through Apple's secure defenses."

lmao. Yeah right....

But I'm sure "there's an app for that". If Apple doesn't keep blocking them.

At least their computers are secure....... now, why does Apple even HAVE the gravity to have fanboys, again?

Like Android is any more secure? The only "secure" computer is one that's turned off, I don't care what OS it runs.

Wow, a four year old article. Like I said, any os can be broken into, especially if you have physical access to the computer.

Never said Android was more secure. I am only stating that Mac OS X and iPhone can be hacked. I am just sick of hearing how secure Apple is with their closed environment.

Ahh, okay.

Neither Android nor Windows, for example, has legions of fantards chanting about how amazingly secure and impenetrable they are. Apple anything, on the other hand, has entire armies of delusional little imbeciles smugly intoning that their devices/computers are impossible to hack/get infected by malware/etc.

The first article was hardly even a year old.

The second serves to a point; that Apple's locked-down system doesn't work like they want; instead of users getting a bunch of useful updates straight from their manufacturer, there are a bunch of undocumented exploits out there because Apple refuses to let their users build upon their system.

And sure, any system CAN be broken into, but if it's a choice between Linux where there are practically no reports of malware and security compromises and Windows/OS X where undocumented exploits run rampant, it's clear which one is the better system.

As a former iPhone/iPhone 3GS user, I can vouch for the iPhone's polish and UI. The device is targeted at the non-techies, which outnumber us 10-1 in both numbers and purchasing power. Having said that, the Droid runs CIRCLES around the iPhone in terms of flexibility, customizability, and freedom to put on there (and screw up) whatever you want. Freedom is a beautiful thing. :)

The best system is the one that does what you need it to do (no one system can do it all). The only systems that currently have viruses are Windows systems. OSX and Linux both have exploits, but need local user interaction for them to work.
