The problem for the carriers and manufactures is trying to appeal to both groups, those that can understand and get the best from their so called smartphone and those that are moving from a so called dumbphone. It's a difficult balancing act. It'll maybe take other manufactures to grasp the concept of Android and make it more user friendly. A kind of Android/iphone hybrid.
It would be interesting to see which ones are working on Android phones and which aren't.
Whilst I love my HTC Hero I can see the drawbacks for someone who doesn't understand what's going on under the skin, Android is not for everybody whereas even an idiot can work an iphone. Apologies to any idiots out there!
