Help Increase speaker sound

I wonder if there is a different mode to get into other than diag

I just used the normal diag mode and mine wasn't read only, after writing the values and reading them back they were successfully written however as I've stated their was no difference in the speaker volume even though I maxed all the levels. Very strange to say the least.

I entered correct msl. It's keeping values but keeps saying it read only. The only thing not read only is mm volume which did increase. Without even correcT msl code it wouldn't b able to do anything esp since msl needed to get into diag mode

Reading the thread over at xda read errors are normal using this procedure on some phones, also it seems to work on some and not on others. One of the mysteries of the cosmos I guess. Didn't do anything for me unfortunately.

Which version of volume+ did you try?i couldnt get the free one to work from the google play store on my nexus(unrooted using 4.1) so i signed up to the dev forums and downloaded the one from there and it works great.dont forget you need to enable volume+ in two places.in the program settings and in the phones sound setting.
Android Audio Hacks

edit-also play around with the settings.i noticed if you put the bass boost to high you will lose volume.also the one from his site has 20 volume increase settings and the ones at least for me that work the best is 10 and 20

i no longer have an evo v so i cant mess with it to see if the setting is someone else.you may want to do a google search to see if anyone with an htc evo 3d found a way to increase the volume since that phone been out a lot longer then the vm version

I have done this with my phone(qpst), I set all levels to 4(max) and downloaded paid version of volume+. My phone's max volume increased by about 1.5. Not a placebo, I tested it before and after using a youtube video. Before altering I couldn't hear the video on max volume and after altering I could hear the same video loud and clear.

i now have the setting you need to get volume+ working.unless htc did a stealth update i dont know about im pretty sure i know what i did to get it.it does force close when i press music effects so im gonna play around to see if i can get it to work but odds are i just have the setting and not the software to get it to work.

that setting was enabled by having volume+,musicfx and equalizer installed.deleting any of the 3 and it would vanish.dont know why this phone doesnt have the music effect setting but im gonna assume it came with 4.0.4 since my ex nexus did.there is also the chance that once i installed musicfx on it(nexus)it unlocked it.anyways it worked on that phone for music and it increased volume by a bunch

i downloaded android music player(jrtstudio)from the market since it has the music effects settings built in.you cant really notice a increase from volume+ but you can from the musicfx app.its not a huge increase but you do notice it and it does sound better but it is just for headphones.

my exhibit 4g is still louder and sounds better but i think im gonna dl powerapp and playerpro to see if they make any difference because i really dont feel like always carrying around 2 phones with me

How can we increase the sound? I've tried volume+ no luck and I tried qpst with no luck. It qpst when I try to write the sound it says it is read only and when the phone comes back on there is no change. Any suggestions?

I'm having good luck with "speaker boost" from the market.
I don't have an HTC, but it works on S2 real well.

I've tried a few volume boosting programs which haven't worked, but haven't had time yet to read up on it more and try again. For me, the speaker bothered me because I can barely hear when I get a text message. Definitely not if I'm not in the same room as my phone. But I've found that the file I'm using as a sound notification can make a difference. If I use zedge to download tones, for example, some sound files seem to be louder, and it makes a small improvement.

I went back and checked. According to the reviews, SpeakerBoost works on pretty much all the HTC's.
I'm telling you, this one works.
It might even blow your phone speaker if you're not careful.

actually it doesnt work.there is zero difference at 0% and 60%.now according to the reviews it use to work on the evo 3d but not anymore.those reviews im referring to are early august and what else happened in early aug.you guessed it the evo 3d was updated to ics.

That's why you go to settings and allow 100% boost.
But, I am going by my results (on my S2). YRMV
