Better MP3 player for the Hero?

I'm looking for a better MP3 player for my Hero ... the stock player is ok, but in order to play a song by an artist, I have to click on that artist, then the album, and finally the song.

Is there a way to totally delete the album info so when I press Genesis (my favorite band in the world), I get all their songs? (and yes, I do have every album, cassette and cd they ever released!)

Or is there a better MP3 out there?

I like rock on.. the same developer has a beta player called 3 which is very nice too

You only have to delete the albums tags on all your songs ! ( I think )

MixZing Lite (free from the market) allows you to list all the songs you have by artist. Just click on "Artists" then choose the artist and you get all of their songs listed. Choose where you want to start and hey presto. No need to delete albums or any of the other options for listing - they can be there for when you need them.

Or you can click on "Songs" and all the songs you have are listed in alphabetical order.

Does it have EQ? I just downloaded Astro Player Beta and love it because I finally found a player with EQ.

btw first post, just got my Hero about a month ago. LOVE it! I had a blackberry before my Hero and I will never go back.

1. Controlled from the lock screen (pause, forward)
2. Shows album art from the lock screen

The stock player has this useful functionality yet I haven't found another player that does?

MixZing is actually really good - TBH I was expecting it to be rather rubbish but it's probably better than the Hero's default music player. The widgets are good, it found all of the missing album covers quickly and has a nice UI. Most recommended.

I have seen an app that let's you add widgets to your lick screen, can't remember the name at the minute.

+1 the 'cube' interface of 3/rock on is one of the best things i've seen in a media player

If you just slide the bottom tab to 'all songs' then you can play all their songs regardless of their album. But if you want to skip that extra one button press, then you can try any one of those players above your good friends in Androidforum suggested

I have been using MixZing for weeks now and never noticed the widgets I can add. Makes it all much easier.
