Hey spz0 I think something is wrong with gps can't get my right dirrection where I am at you think you can monster5.3 gps on this rom? It only took 3 seconds to find my locations

I am having the same problem. It takes a good 10-15 minutes of "Searching for GPS" before it finally finds me. Rather irritating as I rely on GPS to get me places often. a few updates ago I had no problems and it was accurate up to 6 meters, but now it actually thinks I am on the other side of town, lol

This is odd. I do not have any issues with gps in the slightest. The only thing I can think of is the baseband revision. I built this rom using EH29, and have not tested it on EH09 or EH02. Im wondering if theres something different in the revisions that is causing this (ie: an incompatibility with eh29 compiled kernel vs. eh02/09 compiled OS and baseband).
Does MetroPCS even have an EH29 upgrade? I would be interested in finding this out, as cricket has the leaked eh29 corp utility that I have posted in the vitality section.

On a somewhat unrelated note, I've sent my vitality in for RMA. Charging issue, so efforts on upgrades will be somewhat stalled until I can get a new phone. I've got a couple spares lying around, but they are in less-than-working condition -- perhaps I can put those years of college electrical engineering exp to use and fix one. lol. =\

I don't know if it was changed by you or what, but my Baseband version in the About Phone section says "S:R720.06 x.EJ26"

Does this mean anything to you? o_O

Nah, I cant change anything related to baseband revisions. What could be the issue though, is driver incompatibilities/hiccups in the varying kernels. If I can get a list of all baseband revisions for the admire and corresponding kernels (stock, mind you), I can check to see if there are any differences in drivers/firmwares, then try to make the appropriate changes.

All speculation at this point, but as much of an educated guess as I can come up with.
Y'all could just switch to cricket and use the upgrade. o.0 lulz. :p

I could, and I think we might. I just moved out to Tucson and Cricket is the most prevalent prepaid-type service. However, if I break contract with nTelos, we would most likely get new phones with Cricket, and I would want to go with something better than the Admire, lol

As for the driver issues, why would GPS work fine for me on an older version of your rom, but not on the latest one? Maybe something you added or changed isn't compatible with my system?

I honestly have no idea m8. Since 2 updates after the OC kernel upgrade, I havent changed anything in the kernel, nor modified any of the firmware or drivers for any of the hardware. So Im really quite stumped.
Doesnt matter if you reflash the rom? Still same result?

gps gets within 1 meter in city, 7 meters in the country for me (more accurate when moving once signal is loc). finds my loc. within 15 sec indoors, 5 sec outdoors.
So, in short, Im stumped. Most likely baseband revision incompatibilities? I mean, the rom was meant for cricket (eh29), and I ported over to mpcs. Honestly I dont think theres much I can do, aside from compile kernels for all baseband revisions from cricket and mpcs (which is ridiculous). lol

The GPS is telling me I am in my next door neighbors house...I don't think that's totally correct...it's a bit wonky..but works better when I go outside. Odd.

It seems that metroPCS users on certain radios/basebands will have varying results with GPS accuracy.
Again, my rom does not touch the amss, radio or baseband, so gps accuracy is phone/firmware/baseband dependent, and result will most definitely vary.
I get accuracy down to 1 meter in city. average is 4 meters outdoors, indoors is as far off as 10 meters.
(edit: on eh29 bb rev.)
In the words of someone wiser than myself:
I can only polish the turd.
I cant make it not be a turd.
