" Apparently Samsung, Virgin Mobile USA and Boost Mobile will be coming together to hold an event to reveal some "big mobile news". Some speculate that they'll bring the Galaxy S3 to the prepaid carriers. While I think that's unlikely, nothing surprises me nowdays when it comes to the mobile world.

Yes I'd be hesitant and in fact I guess I'm somewhat glad that I don't have the money for the EVO cus it forces me to wait.

Crossing my fingers. Hopefully it's a better 4G phone than the EVO.
hm or maybe I don't even have to hope. It'll for sure be a better phone right? That's why they're making such a big fuzz about it.

These look good Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch OR Samsung Conquer 4G

If it has real 4g and has better specs then the evo V then I'd get it :) Wimax is non-existant where I live, I've tried it in york, pa (get 5meg down and 1.2meg up) Tried it in Baltimore, pa ( get 10meg down and 3meg up) but its no where near my house. Where it is availible its very spotty at best.

You can get a Galaxy S3 on T-Mobile's prepaid. Since it's a GSM network, they cant block what kind of phones you can use. You can use any T-Mobile or unlocked phone on their network, so just get a GSM Galaxy S3.

Yes but AT&T and T-Mobile use different frequencies, while the phone and texting might work high speed data might not.

Yes thats true, you can go with Straight Talk then. Straight Talk is an MVNO of AT&T.

Anyway, I just looked up the G2 (the most likely phone), and its not much better than the Evo V. In fact in some ways its worse, no 3D and lower resolution for example.

Rumor is...
Galaxy S II (Epic 4G touch) for Boost
Galaxy Reverb for Virgin

The Epic was predicted a while back, so it's probably very likely. The Reverb though, it fits spec-wise except it not having 4g.

That rumor doesn't seem right. I can understand Boost getting a slightly better phone, since VM got the Evo 3D, but that is too much of a difference. I would think that both companies would at least get a new Wimax phone. I wonder if there won't be four phones announced, a high end and low end phone for both carriers.

How could it be better 4G? You guys mean LTE? Hell, I'd rather have WiMAX. At least that's available in more than 3 or so states.

If it's a new, high end phone, I'm gonna be pissed. I just got this Evo V.

As of right now, prepaid does not get high end phones. Not unless you purchase an unlocked GSM phone and go to T-Mobile (or AT&T) and use their prepaid plans. (That's what I did, and I'm paying 5 dollars a month less for exceptional 4G coverage on a bloat-free phone that gets first dibs on new Android OTA updates directly from Google.)

That's what I'm going to do as well. After dealing with the triumph and now problems with the EVO V I'm done with Virgin. It was nice when it worked though.

Not true anymore. You can get either Samsung Galaxy SII or Galaxy SIII and even HTC EVO 4G LTE from Ting a Sprint MVNO and at very good rates and interesting plans. I will go for it, except that the speeds in Sprint and the related MVNO are not even mildly exciting.
