Post screenshots or images for wallpapers that everyone can share.

I just got my ASUS TF700 and am stoked about it. Particularly the screen. But I'm having trouble finding suitable wallpapers for the device. Wallpapers that look good in both landscape and portrait. I've read that 1920x1920 resolution will give you the best results on this screen in both orientations, but haven't had luck finding samples.

Does anyone have any good shots that I can use for my wallpaper. I'm particularly interested in the android mascot.

the options are pretty cruddy IMO/IME.

i've tried to create some stuff but i honestly don't understand what the "forced crop tool" wants you to choose there. when i feed it a 1920x1080 image, what the hell is that 1:1 crop tool supposed to be sorting out?

zero success so far. would love to hear some suggestions from folks smarter than me!!!

doody.

it's not entierly about resizing. i can do all that and more in photoshop. i just can't figure out the rationale as to the "crop tool" requirement and how it zooms/rotates when you flip the screen. when i feed it 1920x1080 i still have to do that crop thing and everything goes to pot. never mind portrait mode!

i'm hoping someone smarter than me can explain how it all works!

For some reason the TF700 doesn't scroll.

I agree on the crop tool. I had a hi res pic I wanted to use but the crop tool totally messed up the resizing. Zoomed in way to much and didn't allow me to crop it any other way.

Aside from that, I've been been using wallpaper bay for tablets app from play store. It seems to be working well. It fits both landscape and portrait mode if you set the wallpaper, and don't set it to "fit landscape." But I'm limited to what they have in their gallery and can't use random images that I find or create.

okay - so i think this is how this thing works. hope this helps someone! it's just theory at this point - i'm testing it all out still :)

what you want to do is start with a 1920x1920 image. imagine this is the crop tool:

note that the four 420x420 boxes at each corner will NEVER be displayed on your device.

the crop tool is used to define TWO resultant images - one landscape and one portrait. the LANDSCAPE image is the purple 1080x1080 square in the middle PLUS the two vertical pink rectangles (420x1080) on each side. the PORTRAIT image is the big purple square in the middle PLUS the two horizontal green rectangles (1080x420) on the top and bottom.

so you need to work with images whose "core content" that you care about are in the purple are. i was futzing with the .gov high-res scans of the Declaration of Independence and Constitution - but those don't really work since important content lives in the top green rectangle, and they don't have the "fluff" imagery to cover the pink rectangles.

i've built a helpful (500 KB) PSD i'd be happy to email to a moderator for hosting here if they are so inclined.

IMO, they should allow you to select TWO images - one for portrait and one for landscape - maybe someone will make an app for that :) .

I just bypass the crop tool. Download picspeed wallpapers from the market. Go to your gallery and select the picture, hit the little menu button (or whatever google calles it) at the top right and select set as. Now set it as a picspeed wallpaper and then select the option at the bottom that shows it using the full picture.

Just snagged it. Thanks for the tip.

I would love that PSD right about now... I've been pulling my hair out trying to create a usable background that won't get cropped.

I was able to set the WP once - then it keeps displaying a blank screen, and if I try to use an online picture it keeps telling me that the app has run out of memory.
