How do I update my rom?

I have Fresh 1.1 with Gumbo. How do I update my fresh to 2.0c? Do I just drag the file to root then flash it in recovery without doing anything else? and after im done doing that, do i have to install a newer version of gumbo or will it still be there?

well I tried applying the 2.0c zip and when i went to turn the phone on, it kept giving me force closes on android and HTC sense. So im assuming I did something wrong... How do I update a rom?

Nevermind, i figured it out by myself at the risk of bricking my phone...

But why the hell isn't landscape working now?

When changing OS versions, ie 1.5 to 2.1, be sure to wipe your data before flashing the ROM.

there's a patch at geekfor.me to fix the landscape being broken... but in fixing that it breaks apps2sd..

also, reading the change log or install instructions for a ROM will tell you how to install it...

Fresh is a CDMA build. And according to some people here at the forums, the eris also uses CDMA roms. So I guess it works for both. You can check in the eris part of the forums and find out i guess.

The Droid Eris uses CDMA ROMs because the Eris is essentially a CDMA Hero with different cosmetics, a smaller battery, and setup for Verizon with our root exploits patched shut. Hero ROMs are not Eris compatible.

Fresh 1.x ROMs contain Android 1.5 based on Sprint builds. Currently, all Fresh 2.0x, DamageControl 0.x and 1.x ROMs contain Android 2.1, based on an Eris test build that was leaked a few weeks ago. Damage Control 2.x is the latest 2.1 project, based on a recent Sprint test build that was leaked over the weekend.
