Ok everyone, I've just had my hope restored! *I'll try to keep this short*

I've just come from my local VZW store, where I talked to a complete moron of a salesman(surprising, I know), I'm pretty sure he's new too cause the manager was giving him tips about talking to Spanish speaking customers (since he speaks spanish) . But, the fact that he was a moron makes this even sweeter.

I go in and go straight for the Droid and Eris. The guy comes to help me and I tell him I like the UI on the Eris better than the Droid. (I'm playing it REALLY dumb, so I said "The way it looks"). here comes clue number 1 that he is dumb/new: He's trying to tell me the difference and he CAN'T REMEMBER THAT IT'S CALLED "SENSE UI"!!

At this point, I lose hope, cause if he doesn't know that, he sure as hell isn't going to know about future phones..

So I ask about upcoming phones anyway, of course he takes me to the Devour (ugly ass thing, btw). I ask "what about "The Google Phone"?"..Clue number 2: he gives me a dumb look for about 5 secs and then says, "Oh you mean the uh..the Nexus 1? I don't think we'll be getting that, they sell that online....yada yada"

Then I say, "what about HTC? Are they coming out with anything new?"

***He says, "They've got one coming out called THE INCREDIBLE, but that probably won't be out until summer"****

To make this story short, I have him put me on his list to call at the end of April with more information about the Incredible.

*He said they usually find out release dates a couple weeks before the actual date*

I know what you're all thinking, "Same old thing, no info." What you should take away from this is that even a new, completely STUPID salesman knew about this phone. I believe that this is HUGE evidence that the phone will be coming out SOON.
The problem I see with that is most of that information, if not all, can be easily accessed on the internet. And being as he is new, it would be unwise of him NOT to check out a few tech sites to learn more about the company he works for and cell phones in general. The fact that he did not know the name of Sense can easily be attenuated to him forgetting (which happens when you first start a job as the nerves get the best of you) or him being novel to HTC. Don't mean to burst you're bubble; just my 2 cents.

totally off topic here but.......
Wondering if any former storm owners that have migrated to a droid or eris would be able to compare the browser speeds for me. Trying to keep up with this forum during the day on my storm is like using a reeeeeaaaallllllllyyyyyyyy slow dial up connection. It is next to impossible to fully use the internet on the thing for anything worthwhile. So my question is i guess how fast is the browser on the android phones using regular 3g ( as opposed to wifi)

also if anyone has any spare google voice invites that would be more than appreciated

amen!!!! :)

Even if he did get the information on the internet. He would have had to confirm it with someone before he started telling customers about it. At least I would hope so, or he won't be working there very long.

Well hopefully we get an official release date within 30 days, just went and picked up a Droid at Best Buy for $99. If the Incredible gets announced by the 24th of next month the Moto goes back. BB has no restocking fees and no mail-in rebates, best place to pick up a phone if you want to get used to android while your waiting on the incredible.

Were you able to just renew your current contract or did you have to select one of the new ones?

Since everyone has been going to their VZW stores and getting info, I felt left out and went to another one. (Where I am in Florida right now, there is a VZW store ever 4 miles.)
I walk inside and am attacked by salesmen saying, "CAN I HELP YOU?" "CAN I HELP YOU?" I think you get the idea. I say no, just going to look around. I play with the ERIS for a few minutes then make my way to the back counter and tell the guy: "Hey, I just saw the new device that Sprint launched and was hoping that VZW would get one because I need something that is fast." He offers me the Droid but I say that I am a HTC fan! I tell him that I have heard of the Incredible and he said, "Yah...we just started receiving info on that." I said, "Release dates?" and he said: "April."

Now, this guy may have been bluffing to keep a customer, but if he is right, he sure did keep a customer!

Now, I know that the last time I posted what my VZW rep said, I was attacked by this one guy who is annoying as hell. If you don't want this info, don't take it; if you don't believe this info, I don't blame you; and if you don't care, then why are you in this forum?

That falls right in line with our our corporate VWZ rep told me...that there was a new HTC android device coming mid to late april but that they didn't have any info on it yet.....

Hope we keep hearing more news like this to help concrete April as the launch month ::keeping fingers crossed::

Very good post, Ruben! Thanks!! I guess I should have used this type of a disclaimer at the end of my report last night. Instead I just said, "Hope this helps!"

Live and learn!

For what it's worth, I decided to take a slightly different tactic. I sent an email to Verizon's investor relations group in order to inform them of the problems the company seems to have about not communicating with the customers. (I doubt that I will get a response from the VP that I emailed, but I will let you know if I do)

I am considering the Sprint phone which is supposed to be available this summer. (at least Sprint has the guts to post the phone, its statistics, and a link to be emailed when it comes out, now big red could learn from that example).

Seriously though, if the Incredible were out in time, I would definitely go for it.

Baseball season starts soon and in my work, I could use the ability to check radar and listen to the game webcast while I am taking photos of the games.

Just wish Verizon would say something in order to let us all know when they will roll these things out. Speculation is going to hurt them as other carriers who communicate better and offer better handsets will get the business Verizon would have had.

Just my $0.02

Ok, people. There's a lot of info and opinions flying around about release dates. Mid April, early May, June.....it's enough to make your head spin. What I'm wondering is, how many people really believe it will be released within 30 days from today? I'm so curious about it that I created a poll for it here. Cast your vote if you have the time.

I heard that HTC is going to invent a new month and name it Febtober. The incredible will be released in Febtober. My VZW source told me.
