I keep hearing about people wanting to go to T-mobile, and all I have to say is they where great, for the first 5 years but after that they sucked, and the only reason I stayed with them was that I signed a two year contract, bringing me to being with T-mobile for 7 years. The last two where a dreadful nightmare. Its like, as soon as I found out about the merger that never happened, and them wanting to sell the company they just let things go down hill. Basically, it just seemed like they wanted to get rid of the company so bad, they lost sight of customer service and took forever to roll out 4g which really isn't that great.
Not to mention the total lack of cell signal, once you enter a building. i.e. your home, work, the grocery store. T-mobile wifi calling was a big help, but still a pain and their way of saying hey, here is a app for making calls cause we know you lose all cell service inside buildings. I have had a lot of carriers and imho Verizon is the best, next is AT&T but both are hard to deal with unless you are off contract cause the bill inflation is out of control. I would pay my bill, and look at it online, it would say I was late even though I wasn't, and can't count how may times I was charged a late fee and I wasn't late! So, that's why I went prepaid cause I don't want all the hidden fees and bill inflation. At this point, I gave my mom my Esteem and grabbed a Htc Evo V(3D) which I love. I'm on the 35 dollar plan cause, I never talk to anyone so why pay for something you don't use. Its the cheapest plan and the only thing I cared about was data and text being unlimited. I don't get 4G here but there 3G isn't bad at all. Its better than T-mobiles 3G that's for sure. I get 2-3 mb down and about a meg up which for 35 bucks I'm not complaining. I jumped ship for 2 reasons. Price per month, and a better phone imo. People know about the radio problem with the Evo, but it has been fixed and I don't have any problems at all anymore. It was either this phone or Straight talk And a Nexus for 45 bucks(AT&T simcard of course) but, the lack of insurance, and the data cap of 2gb I just didn't want to risk getting my service canceled cause I'm at 2gb around half the month in. Like I said I use a lot of data. Also I had a $140 Bestbuy gift card so yeah it worked out great. So that's another reason I went this route. Just wanted people to know about T-mobile and my experience with them, and the other company's. Been with more but if I included them all, this post would go on and on lol! Good luck with your choice what ever it is you make.;)

Edit: You could go with Straight talk for 45x2 and be at the 90 dollar price per month your looking for.

I paid twice as much as I do now when I was with Verizon and the service wasn't any better. I will say that Metro's 4G has been terrible at my office, but I downgraded back to a lower PRL, and it made a huge difference. The speed is around 4Mb/s which isn't fast, but at least it isn't kicking me down to 1x.

For $90 a month for me and my wife, with a great phone like the Esteem, I'll stay for a while.

4mb is plenty fast. Kicking you down to 1x please explain?

I've been almost kinda close to leaving a few times but each time there was something that derailed me leaving. Hey maybe I'll get a GNex and go to Straight Talk? Oh wait they don't even throttle you, they kick out out and you can lose your phone number. Hey Boost has 4G now, wait they throttle you i use 2.5-3GB a month maybe I can work around that. But the Evo Design is $300 and not really an uprgrade to me even with ICS cause I can't picture Boost updating it to JB. Hey Virgin the other Sprint prepaid has the EVO V (the Sprint Evo 3D) for just $240, no sale for me there for the same reasons as the Evo Design on Boost. Plus I'm blind in 1 eye so 3D doesn't mean squat to me lol. Boost, Virgin, and Samsung have a big announcement next week on the 22nd so unless they announce a Galaxy Note, GS3, or GNex and they're priced to sell and not too watered down, I'll probably still be with Metro when the GS3 comes out and then I'll have no reason to leave Metro.

The Design doesn't really compare to the Evo V. Now that we have a modified hboot we are able to flash all the aosp, aokp, miui , CM9, CM10 the same as the Evo 3D. http://androidforums.com/evo-v-4g-all-things-root/594152-hboot-downgrade-working-aosp-gb-roms.html

The Design has CM9 but no where near the love the Evo V is getting.
The Nexus might be good for some but not others for reasons I've mentioned.
I have never been a Samsung fan period but I would get a Nexus for sure.
When the GS3 comes out that would be a great phone for me but I am way too happy with my Evo V. I love the 35 bucks a month -vs- the 60 I was paying with Metro.
It comes down to what you need, what your happy with, and what you want.
The old saying goes to each his/her own. :D

I love Verizon, and to me they are the best, but my phone was stolen and my bill was racked up to over $900 bucks. I didn't report it right away cause I have lost my phone before and found it so I just thought it was lost. I made the mistake so yeah. They wanted me to pay it and they would reimburse me after an investigation. Well....needless to say, I wasn't and couldn't pay for that, and that's the only reason I left. If that never took place, I would still be with them. I guess the moral of the story is, always assume your phone is stolen and cancel the service right away.

Honestly a lot of people are leaving metro. Me and my mom share an account and we pay $90 a month. Where else can we go for the same or a little bit more and have decent phones? Lol

T-Mobile. They have top tier phones and even on contract you'll be paying about the same. If you buy a Galaxy S3 right now you can get a second one for free (after rebate).
