Help MMS problems

Hello everyone, this is my first post on the Android Forums.

Im having problems with sending and receiving MMS messages;

Im not able to send them and it takes a long time for me to receive them.
also all my pictures are made into videos for some reason.
Ive tried to look though setting and such but no luck.

go a little easy on me with your answers and if you have any questions. Im 16 and pretty tech savvy but i dont know alot of what you guy talk about on here and i also got this phone about a week ago.

well, you need to double check your mms apn settings with your mobile provider, call them.

regarding movies, you can start camcorder or camera.

Dave are you sure that you have checked your camera apps button?

if your camera button shows this it means that you are using it with Still Image mod (photo mod)

if your camera button shows this it means that you are using it with Video Camera mod

to change between mods just press the Switching button in left down corner of the screen (you may see it in first screenshot)

@ Andronix, yes i do have MMS and can receive and send them.

@ atbeyi, yes i know, when i take pictures it saves them as pictures, but when i try to send them via MMS(or when i recive photos) its in a vidoe format and "plays" the photo for five seconds when i try to view it.

MMS is supposed to play, because when you prepare your MMS you can add multiple pictures as slideshow along with music you want and text. So, everything is fine.

I have never sent a mms in my whole life

today I tried sending my first picture taken with my camera on the Droid and every time I tried to send it (via handcent) it wouldn't go thru. Do I need a special app for sending pix via texts?

you probably need mms enabled on the sim via your provider or check that your provider settings are correct for the mms APN

its default behaviour on standard android 1.5, afaik the only way it can be changed is with a modified messaging apk like galaxo's or by using a different messaging app like handsent or chompsms

i use handcent which u can find on market for free...
just do not forget to disable notification of original sms/mms app
