***Official HTC Incredible Thread***

Sorry, I just like using the Michael Scottism whenever I can. If it offended you, I apologize.

No worries;)

I think we just need to be mindful of not letting this thread descend into chaos like last week. I have a thick skin (especially on-line) but a lot of people would have taken that as confrontational. This thread is going to get a lot of attention if the incredible is ever released/announced I think we need to make this a welcoming place for people when it explodes (just my .02 $)

I just e-mailed this to VZW Customer Service. I'll keep you posted on any replies I receive. I did my best to "play dumb", and still get some information.

"I just recently bought a Motorola Droid, and signed on for a 2 year service agreement. I am not happy with the phone at all. The operating system is great, and the touch screen is good, but the keyboard is absolutely TERRIBLE. Not only that, but it's constantly sliding open in my pocket.

I've already looked into some of the other Android phones you have (the Eris and the Devour), and I am not interested in either. I'm looking for a higher end Android device, something like some of the devices I've seen available from other carriers, like the Google Nexus One, and the HTC Evo.

I'm very seriously considering returning my Motorola Droid, and canceling my contract, even though there's an early termination fee, so I can get a decent Android phone with another carrier.

Please advise."

I just sent the following through the My Verizon contac us link.

Could you please give me any available info on the release dates of the Nexus One for Verizon or preferably the HTC Incredible(codename)?
I along with thousands of other people have been awaiting their arrival since before Black Friday.
We have watched other carriers release really nice handsets such as the Nexus One and the HTC EVO, even the Windows Mobile HD2.
We are beginning to lose faith in our carrier.
This is the exact reason I left US Cellular many years ago.
My contract is up and I am looking for a reason to extend my 5 phone family plan for another 2 years.
Please send something other than the canned response we have grown accustomed to , if need be please elevate this to a level where someone will have info.
Thanks

Trent Reznor, thank you for saying this, and let me further support this statement. As Trent points out, we will soon have an even bigger flood of visitors to this thread as we approach product launch.

Please keep the trials and tribulations of the history of this thread in mind as we get closer to a release date. Every one of us has the potential to divide and deteriorate this thread and community with one misplaced, careless, and/or inappropriate comment. We also have the same potential to unite, inspire, and support the same community by just taking a deep breath at times and putting our individual agenda aside and thinking about the best interest of the overall community before we post something.

As you're all well aware, the Mod's, Admin's, and to the extent applicable, myself, have taken an increasingly "swift justice" stance to any inflamatory posts and all hope that the thread doesn't again deteriorate to the point where we need significant intervention again.

So... as more poeple join the thread to share their thoughts and excitement for the Incredible lets welcome them and treat them, and each other, with respect.

Cheers and happy posting!

No trainings are scheduled for the reps in my location. Not this week and not as far out as our current schedule goes (around one month). But the majority of devices don't get a face to face training. Most get an online training, and these are often released right before the device. The Incredible is similar enough to our current devices that I expect only an online training.

The ADR6300VW and ADR6300DU still show up as skus, but quantities remain zero in all locations I can search.

I certainly share everyone's impatience regarding a release date or official announcement of some kind. However, phone calls, emails, tweets, and store visits simply aren't going to dig up any info. Customer facing employees at this time have no official information regarding the Incredible. Anything you hear will simply be hearsay and rumors, probably less informed than this forum.

If any internal information trickles down to the front lines of VZW, you have can be assured that it will show up here. But I honestly expect that to be the same time VZW makes a public announcement.

Woooo someone that works for VZW, i think?

I have till the end of this week...........gotta get the phone before my sister goes back to college, hopefully something comes out by that time. I BEG OF YOU PHONE GODS!!!

I also really wonder what the "surprise" is for the Verizon Nexus One, it actually could be something special considering all the crappy units going around T-mobile and AT&T.

Also, they say "Next Week" according to Soft Sailor, which i posted like yesterday. But Soft Sailor posted that "Next Week Nexus One release" like last week lol on March 24th (my b-day). So technically it would turn out to be the end of this week and not the end of next week.

I understand everyone's excitement with this phone, I am anxiously waiting for it as well but in no hurry, my Moto droid will hold me until the release.

One suggestion for those of you who are pinging your VZW CSR's, why not ask for the ADR6300 instead of the Incredible or provide both? Isn't that the placeholder put in the system?

Sorry if this isn't really related to the Incredible but it gives insights to it.

Verizon Nexus One Video Leak - Nexus One Forum - Google Phone Forum

Theres a video of the google.com/phone page with the leaked sale of the Verizon Nexus One. It looks pretty real to me, clicking between the options of T-mobile and VZW.

Also, the tipster from jkontherun says that the delays of the Nexus One may have been caused by problems with Skype not running properly on Android 2.1

This also means that if Skype isn't running nicely with android 2.1 and VZW is delaying the Nexus One due to that reason, they would certainly delay the HTC Incredible for that same reason.

Yeah, I don't think Verizon or it's reps will ever get a phone named HTC Incredible, so anyone claiming to know the release date of the Incredible is probably just regurgitating internet rumors.

That would be unfortunate if it's the cause, as the vast majority of people I'm sure would prefer a delay on the Skype release as opposed to delaying the phone's release.

I am new to the forums I usually just read but I guess you guys like info even if its any info. My coworker now is a manager for Verizon and had no info until now about the incredible. First its not going to be the incredible. He documents state it as an HTC IMAGIO weird and he knows there is already an IMAGIO out already for Verizon anyway the specs he could tell me is that it has 8mp camera. But here is why I know it will be incredible if not caled that at release is that it has a 2.6 GHZ processor. WHAT THE !!!!!. No release date all he could say that he was being trained next week. So its my quess it will release in approximately 2 weeks.

Take for what its worth but remember when it comes out this post . Key word 2.6 ghz processor WOW. How you like Verizon now.
No phone coming out in the next 6 months will have a 2.6GHz processor. I'd put my life savings on it.

Maybe slightly off-topic, but it still relates to the Incredible.
I'm new to this forum, but I've been reading this thread for quite a while now and decided to join. Seems like a good community, and this thread is updated a lot.

I had been wanting a smartphone on Verizon for some time now, I used to have a Blackberry but never really liked the OS, personally. And two weeks back I went into my local Verizon and picked up a Moto Droid, it was a hard choice, because I really like the Sense UI, but the battery life I read about and the speed difference made me land on the Moto Droid over the Eris, though I'm not a fan of the slide-out keyboard.
I do really love this Android OS, though. This is definitely the OS for me.

Then, I read about the Incredible. To me, even with the murky details, it seems like a better version of the Eris, at least for my needs. I've had my Moto Droid for two weeks now, and I really hope something on the Incredible is announced within the next two. That way I can do kinda what others have mentioned and return it within the 30-days for the Incredible, sure I have to pay the restocking fee but I can live with that.

I'm really hoping the Android prophets are right and this thing may make it by mid April! I didn't mean to write a full essay, but I figured I'd just introduce myself and my situation here. :p
