Root [Boost Mobile] [GUIDE]Easy Root Method - Works w/ B10 update! 1/28/2013

You might as well get rid of the other guides on rooting lol

Do you mean in the sticky guide?

If this really supersedes the others, having their thread owners linking here, then reporting asking for a lock is probably the best way to go, I think. (and the sticky guide can be a separate issue for us)

Am I missing something? Over thinking this?

That sounds good. This really is the best and easiest way to avoid many errors (most human) and simple mistakes in my opinion

I can't think of a reason anyone would do rooting any other way at this point, this one requires the least amount of steps and can be done completely from the phone vs needing adb or anything else on the computer, it takes care of two of the biggest hurdles, the drivers/usb issue and the cwm not sticking issue not to mention takes all of the guesswork out of it.

This zip can be flashed from stock recovery or cwm by the way.

Zing how much space do you have on your SD card? You have to have enough open to finish the download.

Also you can't interrupt the download with phone calls or letting your phone sleep.

1.81 GB on SD

I think that I was not equipped for zip files so I downloaded the app "Download All Files" and then I downloaded EasyRoot. So now EasyRootCWM.zip file is appearing in my Downloads but how do I get it to SD card?

Hi everybody,

I have a ZTE n860 (android 2.3.5) from Public Mobile in Canada. I tried this method to root my smartphone but it failed.

During the installation, I had this error:
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted

Does someone could help me?

sounds like a bad download, please try re-downloading again and re-flashing. The zip that is up right has been verified on many devices to work.

sorry, I completely missed that part of your request... I can't speak to what's on that phone, all of this forum's posts are intended for boost mobile's phones, they might not be that different software wise, but who knows...

I would look at trying the other methods we have of installing cwm to gain root, try the second method in this post, if that doesn't work try the third way... if you can get cwm installed I bet we can use that to get root if the software is close to ours.
