That is actually a pretty valid point, if their true intention behind the BOGO deal is to clear the old Droids out anyway. Why announce something that would cause some people to return the old Droids?

I really hope you're wrong though, lol!

If the BOGO doesn't apply to the new phone, then they probably will not have many returns.

I don't really know the fine print of the BOGO, though.

Here's a thought going to play Devils advocate here. I hope this does not happen but with the BOGO deal ending 3-31, wouldn't it be wise for VZW to wait until 31 days after this date to release the Incredible?

This is assuming that customers know of the 30-day return policy. Besides, who wants to pay that $35 restocking fee...

Also, anyone know how long that deal's been going on for? I feel like it has been awhile.

Edit: Can VZW stipulate that you cant return a BOGO phone? That the phone used in the BOGO deal is a sale finalized on purchase?

OK, I'm carefully avoiding the Hanna Montana references.
Its true that this saga is a little like watching the pig pass down the body of the python. We know the pig is there, we know it will emerge, but we don't know when. Trouble is that in this case there are TWO pigs - the N1 and the ADR6300. Its hard to know what VZW will do in term of release priority and timing, and that makes something as simple as which one comes first hard to call.

Its a guess at best, but I imagine the N1 for VZW will come first, and the ADR6300 will hit VZW stores some indeterminate time after than announcement.

As for the comments on the thread, those who are uncomfortable with conjecture should stay away from forums and stick with reading newspapers. It will be better when this thread is released on DVD as The Incredible - Season 1. Lots of editing will be required :)

I could see the N1 being available by the end of the week or early next week. I don't think the incredible will be released until the 2-3 week of April. I think it is possible that the day (or around the day <1-2 days after>) the N1 is available for purchase the incredible is announced. With release a week or 2 after.

EDIT: left out the quote originally.

Sorry if this isn't really related to the Incredible but it gives insights to it.

Verizon Nexus One Video Leak - Nexus One Forum - Google Phone Forum

Theres a video of the google.com/phone page with the leaked sale of the Verizon Nexus One. It looks pretty real to me, clicking between the options of T-mobile and VZW.

Also, the tipster from jkontherun says that the delays of the Nexus One may have been caused by problems with Skype not running properly on Android 2.1

This also means that if Skype isn't running nicely with android 2.1 and VZW is delaying the Nexus One due to that reason, they would certainly delay the HTC Incredible for that same reason.

This would be simple to fake. Maybe 10 minutes including creating the video.

Love and Light Department: This Incredible thread is better than most public spaces. Waiting for and speculating about the Incredible is not only a great way to socialize. It's also a wonderful way to practice frustration tolerance and impulse control (both badly-needed skills in this Road Rage world).

And when things get off-track or mean we actually are able to recover from that thanks to kind and humorous members and moderators. Keeps me cheered up. Wish society had such good manners.

I am really looking forward to how this thread develops after the Incredible is released...I imagine we will become a wonderful resource for users.

For cell phones in general as well. Even just searching.. I have learned a lot from all of you. This thread has taught me how to be more savvy when it comes to finding information and using search functions on the internet. As well as knowledge on smartphones and cell phones. Thanks everyone! ;)

I couldn't agree more. I have only been here for a couple days and already I feel so much more comfortable than I did at the Crackberry forums. Lord, some of those people over there are just... ugh.

Agreed, that's a possibility too. What we wouldn't give for one nugget of solid confirmation from VZW1!

True! I think it makes a lot of sense too. VZW can be like, you can get this sweet phone that will work on our network (the N1), but if you would prefer a little more 1-1 customer service and trying the phone out first, wait a week or 2 for the incredible.

VZW will want to sell more contracts on the incredible than N1 (most likely).
