Hey, I know you couldn't do this with the triumph, but I've rooted my HTC Evo V 4G and wondered if you could still activate this phone or if Un-root is necessary. Thanks.

1 Dial ##25327# on the handset
2 select menu in the top right corner then Reset.
3 Phone Reset Message appears
4 Select Reset, Done or OK depending on device model.
5 Device powercycles
6 Hands free activation process begins
7 Device checks for PRL update. Select OK.
8 Device checks for software update. Select OK.
9 Device powercycles

You are resetting your activation (or something similar).

Go into settings, second from the bottom is activation.
It won't work if the phone is currently activated.

Yea basically my phone keeps beeping, and a triangle comes up next to my signal bars because it thinks it's roaming and then switches back to normal service. It happens about once every ten mins.

I emailed saveme@thevirginangels.com to see if they could help from the back end. They told me to reactivate it, this has been happening before and after root. And yes, it won't let me activate it, it says to take it to the nearest sprint store, lol.

Sounds like you installed a Evo 3d rom, and it;s trying to roam, something Virgin doesn't support.

If so, you need to go into settings and disable roaming.

Where is that one the evo v? The settings for "wireless & networks" where the roaming check box should be only have the "wifi, gps, 4g" enable/disable boxes.

I literally cannot press the "mobile networks" button! Damn you virgin!

I am wondering about this.
Will any unlocked HTC Evo 3d activate with VM after fixing the radio and loading Harmonia ROM?
In other words will A Boost, Sprint or Metro PCS Evo 3d be made to work on VM?

Thanks for all the help guys!
Simple answer, no. You need a phone bought from Virgin.

Long answer, yes, it can be done, but it is against the TOS, and some state laws and wuaetionable on federal laws. It also can take a heck of a lot of work and you will not get 4g.

Well... that is really a shame.
I'm not against VM getting a fair deal, if only there were a way to pay a smallish fee to have a device registered on their network.
'Cause these phones are everywhere, literally hundreds of these phones in my town are headed for the junk drawers of history right now. Cause Sprint has moved on from them.

Not my problem though.

Thanks for the advice.
