How does google voice work on 2.1? How does the newest Gvoice update work on 1.5?

I have google voice and use it for every phone call I make. I heard that there were issues with several gvoice updates, so I haven't updated google voice since 0.2.8 and it is working just fine- every call connects, no problems.

Is it worth updating to the newest version of google voice with push?

For those of you with 2.1 on your Eris- does google voice work for you? Any issues?

The latest Google voice with push works great on 2.1 if you aren't making outgoing calls with it. It still has the bug where your cell number shows instead of the gv number. I don't know if if anyone has figured out if you are actually calling from gv and just displaying the wrong number though. Either way it isn't doing what it should.

I don't make that many outgoing calls through gv, most of mine are incoming so I have been using the latest since it updated. The push is great and I am getting my text and voicemail messages really quickly.

What if someone calls you, you miss their call then try to call them back?? Then your other number appears..

2.1 has so many small issues, like I think the alarm doesn't work anymore in the new leak. luckily i wake up early to sunlight anyway. I really wish I just stuck to 1.5 now, and if any more new leaked updated shit that comes out, I'm not doing it. So many times I have to re-do my phone. people have too much time on their hands on these forums.

Anyway, if you do update to the leak 2.1 as per recommendation without the push notification (which is really 1-3 mins vs the instant 15-30secs of real text), you can use an old version of google voice, which is what I'm doing...

the alarm works fine I use it every morning to get up. Honestly the only issue ive had that ive read about is no picture in gmail issue. Other than that my phone runs like a champ on steroids.

I don't miss calls. It is the reason I have a smartphone. ;) However, in your highly unlikely hypothetical situation it would still go to voicemail. If they don't leave a voice mail then it isn't that important. :D

Seriously though, with missed calls I typically just send a text to the person in question and tell them to give me a call back when they get a chance if they don't leave a voicemail. My GV number is for business and I didn't do much calling out even when it worked. Most of the people I work with communicate with me via Email, sms and IM so the push notifications are much more important to me than being able to call out. As far as 1-3 minutes for notifications, I don't think I have ever seen one come through that took more than 30 seconds. I know I have never has anyone comment on waiting for a reply and believe me, these people would complain if I waited too long.

I have it setup to make Outgoing international calls only. It doesnt work for me, It shows the Google Voice screen with the End button, however after that it goes to Verizon network like any regular outgoing call and then it gives me error stating "to check the number".

I have the latest leaked 2.1 and google Voice 0.3.2 version. I dont know if I can approach google voice team to ask for help as i dont have "Official OTA Android" version running on the Phone.

You shouldn't have any problems getting help form the techs at Google.

I just tried re-installing it again, it loads, starts setup, select the account, click sign in, then you go to the page where you can allow or deny, and when I click allow, it crashes

"Sorry! The process has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."/force close

the program automatically goes back to the allow/deny page, if I hit deny, the same thing happens, if I exit, Sense has to reload.

I'm getting this, too.
