Unplug usb cable and pull battery.
As long as you don't have lgnpst running accessing the phone you'll be ok... Seeing you used one click root I doubt you are running lgnpst in any way
Once you replace battery power it on normally first to make sure everything went ok with the root. If that is ok then you can power down and then power back on with the vol - and power button
assuming you have everything setup for performing the jcase root method, boot up pc,then plug usb cable into phone with phone powered off, then power it on. hopefully the pc will recognize the phone properly to try the jcase root method. i know its in dl mode but looks like its only option available atm. start up lgnpst once youve got the device plugged in and on. now skip directly to picking vm dll and then proceed to flash the tot file. with any luck everything will detect properly in order to start the method. youll know if the phone shows up in lgnpst and lets you pick the dll and tot.
theres a link to that skin.dll in the main "lets get this ball rolling" thread. several of us had that error.
Though, i still wouldn't go through with this. The first phone that was flashed with the tot was flashed in download mode. It flashed ok, but it didnt backup and restore the NV items or something along those lines. When the phone came back up, it couldn't get any data access. If you go through with this, I'm pretty sure you're going to end up in the same boat.
The phone I mentioned (the one that was flashed with the tot in download mode) had to get replaced. I think it functioned fine as an mp3 player, flashlight, and doorstop. Not having data access made it pretty useless as far as anything that has anything to do with the internet in any way, shape, or form. That was the whole reason people had to go through the trouble to get their MSL in the first place - so they could flash the tot in diag mode instead of download mode. We knew it would be able to flash, but it would cripple the phone.
Go in the root section, look for the thread called something like "Lets get this ball rolling". Read the entire thread. Somewhere around page 13 or so is where that brave soul took one for the team and flashed their phone in download mode and broke it. Then some more pages of people tossing out ideas and finally some pages with people getting the MSL/SPC and flashing the phone in diag mode. After the first few people started getting the flashing to work there are posts about that skin.dll missing and detailed instructions about where to put the dlls to make stuff happen.
But I still say you may as well take your phone back to the store and get a replacement now. If you try flashing that whole tot like you are planning, you are going to end up with a 1/8th functional phone and be taking at back to the store anyways.
on the back end of that,a number of us have been able to successfully reflash the tot directly from download mode without destroying nvram data. i have, and considering its not going to hurt the device anymore than it already is,its worth a try. if it doesnt work for whatever reason then take it back.
