Things I hate about the Itouch similar to the Iphone. No mutli-tasking. I can not listen to pandora while playing a game. You try and download more than one app at a time and you get server lag. I tried 4 at once took over an hr.

Android-droid by verizon.. Wifes phone I can listen to pandora while playing a game then switch over do something else come back multi-task anyone. I can download unlimited apps with out bogging down. It responds faster. I put it up against my best friends who all have iphones. And the droid whipped its little ass. First off the browser came up instantly and started working. There Iphones had a lag. Give me android any day. I like how the android market is set up better than apples.

Yea thats my plan as of right now.

I only consider a blackberry because like legit, 90% of the people i know have one and use BBM.
See, if I had any friends around this area that had a phone other than:
A. Generic VZW phone (enV, Voyager, etc.)
B. iPhone
C. <insert random phone here>

I would probably be telling you to maybe get a BB, but honestly, even if every person I knew had a BB and used BBM, I'd still tell you to stay away from their phones until they overhaul their OS and start creating better designs. They make the same phone every year updating their OS a little at a time. Plus, they're as fragmented as Android when it comes to operating systems.

BB leaves their Storm stuck on 5.0.0.348 or something, and then the Storm 2 is on 5.0.0.445, and the Tour is just getting a 5.0 update whilst the Pearl which is still a damn popular phone is stuck on shitty 4.

Android is the way to go because of the fact that you can root the phone and install the newest OS without waiting for your carrier/manufacturer to update it (read: mods :D)

Anyway, I want my Incredible this instant still.

Don't get a Blackberry. There's really no point in them. The OS on all of them is so archaic that you'll regret every second of grabbing a BB. Just ge

It really is your best bet, take it from someone who has used both OSes, Android is miles ahead of Blackberry in terms of potential, the community support is also better, just look at this forum for instance. These are just personal beliefs of my own, I know, but you won't go wrong with an Android phone. I myself am currently using a Moto Droid, and expect to return it before my 30 days, justing hoping for word on the Incredible.

Just get the Droid for now and overclock it, and then when the Incredible or the Nexus One is released, that's when you can return it and hopefully be within the 30 days and get that phone instead!

Pretty sure if you root and overclock your Droid you will void the warranty on it thus rendering it yours for all time leaving you looking sadly at your friends' Incredibles and hating yourself for your hasty, instantly-gratifying decision.

Well, I haven't looked into it, but I thought it was possible for you to return to stock if you root it. Maybe I was mistaken.

Regardless, getting a Droid and just using that stock >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> any BB phone ever.

so, tell me, given VZ's track record? How many of you reeeeeeally Apple will have a phone out for VZ this summer?

In either case? Why would I go with Apple over the Incredible?
Well, I can definitely see the possibility that VZW will release an iPhone, but in the summer? No way.

The way I see it is Apple is definitely working on one, and they already have the iPhone 4G almost ready to hit AT&T shelves, but they're leaving a surprise when they unveil the new phone in June/July.

Also, the one main reason I could definitely see why anyone would go with the iPhone is because it is the most established smart phone out there. The App Store is obviously the best thing about it even though there have been numerous occasions where it was caught in a shit fest, but regardless of that, the phone does everything you want it to do, and does it well.

Sure it doesn't have the multitasking, customization, and open source-ness that Android does, but you also are confident in the fact that you are getting the latest OS regardless of what manufacturer/carrier you are on. Apple releases their updates, and every person in the world can download it right away. You don't have to worry about fragmentation. Plus, come the summer, there is going to be a hint of multitasking in there as well.

I still think once Android picks up more of a stronghold, it will definitely reign supreme over the closedness of the iPhone.

In regards to the Verizon iPhone, I have it on pretty good authority that Verizon WILL get an iPhone in 2010. However the details aren't worked out and its very likely the phone will not be released until late in the year or as we know with Verizon, maybe delayed until even later. He wasn't able to expand on the LTE iPhone rumors so not sure about that. <- This is from a senior Verizon business to business sales rep FWIW.

He did however say look for June 2010 to be a huge month for new phones. That is the time frame Apple is supposed to release its updated version of the iPhone and just about every other manufacture is said to be pumping out many new, high end models to compete with Apple.

I'm personally sold on the Incredible, however if it gets pushed back till May I may just wait around a few more months just to see what else develops. - I just hope I don't have to wait around that long!

A while back I remember something about someone saying that they were testing a mini version of the iphone and the incredible and that the incredible was the better option. Just don't remember who made this post

Wow, HAHAHA, I can't believe you actually posted that. Fail. +1 for your honesty, though. Tell you what - on the basis of your confession, I will thank you for the above post and retract my birthday thanks. The net thank you count will remain unaffected. Thank me for my benevolence.

For what it's worth, I was just at Verizon Wireless and asked the customer service rep when the Nexus One would be released. He told me he expected it in May or June but then continued to explain that the HTC Incredible is the phone I want.

I asked him when it would be released and he said mid-April.

I understand this may not be new information, or useful, or even accurate, but I thought I'd at least chime in.

HTC Incredible released on March 31!! / YouveBeenHad.Com reports

What's funny is it wasn't the text that fooled me. I read it and said to myself, "This must be a joke. I will click on it and read it for entertainment." Then, and only then did I realize that I truly had been had by the blue color of the text posing as a hyperlink. You truly are a prankster's prankster, Montana Man. Well played, sir.
