Root BH_Man's 1.6 Galaxy rom and GDE

Has anyone tried using GDE with the 1.6 Roms? I have and it seems the widgets I place on the home screen do not function properly. They become unresponsive and do not update. I like the ability to change the number of home screens and I like the app dock and conversation widgets built into GDE, they work fine. Other widgets don't ie., facebook, battery left, pandora and etc.

Me. First thing I downloaded after flashing is GDE and the themes. All my apps are working properly. I use Facebook Touch, eRay, CacheCleaner, Tip droid, Beautiful home, etc... All of them works. Tried reset see if it fixes ur problem.

I haven't actually used GDE and I wasn't too impressed with what I could find on the internet. Mind posting a screen shot of your interface? :) I'm always looking for a cool home replacement app, but so far Open Home, SlideScreen, PandaHome, and Home++ have left me uninterested.

I had restored gde from a back up. I uninstalled and redownloaded from market and all is good now.

here is the theme "obsidian" for GDE.. i like it cause its not too flashy.. pretty simple.. GDE has quite a bit of options

Lol I used Obsidian too!! But changed it last week as I was bored with it.

@Spiz, Yea i also tried Openhome and Panda, wasnt really interested in them either. But GDE made my money worth it. If only i could ask for refunds on those two...haha

Man these are some nice looking UI's... it's nice to know that BH2 owners don't have terrible taste like some of the screen shots in the Android Themes forum. Some of those look like a natural disaster hit their phone.

Couple questions... how do I change icons with GDE? I was using Android 2.0 icons on my old Open Home set up and would like to have those back. Shawn your icons are awesome btw, and I have that wallpaper saved to my phone. Good choice! :)

Also, is there a way to use GDE for taking screen shots or do I need to do it a different way? I'm sure it's mentioned in the forums, but I've never been able to make my screen shots show my notification bar at the top.

Thanks guys ...

Calender widget is pure grid calender with transparent skin

Music widget is called pure music widget with the same transparent skin. Both are by the same developer (koxx).

I use Bettercut for my icons and I just randomly search on the internet. Here's a good starter site Free Icon Search Engine - FindIcons.com (287,194 free icons in 2,102 icon packs)

I'm always changing my home screens like a junkie. I don't think I've ever stayed with the same ones for more than 2 days LOL

The app I use for screen shots is called shootme from the market. Start it up and it runs in the background. Just give your phone a shake and it saves a screen cap to your sd card. I use photobucket app and a copy goes straight to my photobucket account. When you're done taking shots remember to turn off shootme. Also remember to turn off auto upload on the photobucket app if you don't want all pics going to it.

Some great looking screens. Heck I feel guilty for just throwing mine together to grab some quick shots to show you some of the features.

Well if you have Android SDK package, its in there. Go to the Tools folder and run DDMS.bat. After that click on your device in the Name box. Then at the top select Device option and click Screen capture. Its fast and captures everything. Saves them to desktop and share!!! :D

I think you will like it a lot. I noticed most don't end up using the application dock widget that comes with gde. I think it is real handy but with no how to it took a while to find out how to use it. So,...

I always start with an empty home screen. Place the app dock on your home screen as you would any widget. Then add app and/or contacts shortcuts directly to the home screen. Once you have all the shortcuts you want or you run out of space just drag them one by one onto the app bar. Presto you just fit nine icons into the space of four and they all turn semi transparent. You can add more too. One of these days I will try to see if there is a limit to how many it will hold. To (re)move the app bar long press near the right or left edge. Be aware it can be hard to see against some wallpapers when empty.

Is anyone else have trouble buying this from in the States? Keep getting an error... So many times I don't want to even buy it now... sheesh..

That's kind of weird... I wasn't having that problem. It did take forever to authorize my credit card, but I cancelled it, switched to WiFi and then started again and it worked fine.
