Sticking with my Droid. Up until I had heard about the Droid and the massive influx of Android-powered devices, I was ready to jump ship on Verizon and head to *shudder* AT&T to get an iPhone, because I wanted a touchscreen phone that actually worked for TOUCH, rather than all the Windows Mobile stylus-based phones out there. When I heard about the Droid, I immediately dropped any ideas about getting an iPhone and about a week or two after launch day (and with some trouble on Verizon's end), I had my Droid.

I won't look back.

Unless some major changes are made to the UI for the next iPhone there isn't a chance I'd even consider switching. Now, the new windows series is a bit more interesting to me...we'll see how that turns out. I'm not a huge fan of the "desktop covered with app icons" style, so it's really a matter of personal preference (and yes, I know Android is build on that same philosophy, but at least we have widgets :D)

Currently, DROID DOESSSS! Future = Nexus One! Maybe?! (Don't start with the whole screen and other issues, I know them). But Nexus probably.

Iphone = No way for me. I'll never buy an Iphone. Just because I've bashed it too much with my friends and said Android is so much better. I don't think I'd live if I did lol. Plus I just love Android and it's soooo much better. So Android for life for me! :D

It's interesting - I do like the stock iPhone much better than the stock Droid - it just works right out of the box much better...much. Apples music player destroys anything on the Droid currently and has more memory (for the time being) than the Droid does. Apple does much much better with gaming than the Droid does as well. However, Apple has the clampdown on their phone and basically what you see is what you get. I'm a tinkerer, always have been. You cannot tinker with the iPhone - I tinker with this Droid every day. I enjoy it. I like customizing it, changing the colors, adding/subracting widgets, switching up ROMs, etc. I also like being able to multi task, which you currently cannot do on the iPhone.

There are things about this phone that drive me nuts including the lack of a MT keyboard and EQ for the music player, but unless the iPhone as it's presented to us in Verizon form totally blows away the Droid (or whatever top Android Device Verizon has at the time of the iPhone launch), I don't see myself switching to the iPhone.

I really always liked the iPhone, but I can't stand how locked down Apple is. For instance, I just tried playing an iTunes movie on a projector using my Macbook, and the friggin' VGA adapter blocked, saying it was an unauthorized screen. Seriously...I don't know if I could ever pay to be so limited. Also, I hate iTunes. I'll stick with Android if Google can fix this fragmentation issue.

Welcome to DRM. Any legally purchased movie will do this.

I will be interested in the features a new iPhone brings to the world of mobile, but Android is the open source goodness that iPhone is not. So.. an obvious choice for me is Android all the way. It may not be Motorola, but Android has proven to me beyond a shadow of a doubt that it is an awesome OS and will only get better over the course of time.

Who knows.. maybe Motorola will release 2.1 and totally change my view of them. But Motorola has been pissing off alot of their customers(including myself) with this Mickey Mouse BS for too long. At this time, I would welcome a new hardware manufacturer as a possibility. IMO, It is kind of sad that Motorola had it's shot to be the B.M.O.C. and blew it.

Love my DROID... hating Motorola.

I never had an iPhone but I had an iPod Touch. I loved it. It was intuitive and a great piece of gadgetry. When it first arrived I remember thinking to myself "this is the future!" All was good in "Pfillyland." I had to pair it with my BB Curve since I refuse to go with Big Blue (ATT), their shoddy network/customer service and to carry 2 gadgets in your pocket while being out and about was, although exciting, a little bit of overload.

When Palm announced early last year that they had a new OS and phone coming out the buzz was too much. I thought "Everything I need in one device?" Count me in! Keep in mind that Android was new to the scene and the offerings were were suffice to say "poor."

Fast forward to Oct. 2009. Now I have navigation in my car but the DVD to upgrade the roads and information was $185. VZ had Navigator for $10/month. My BB Curve was horrid as a means to surf the web and my iPod apps were just getting expensive. I barely picked either of them up anymore except to make calls and check email. Now I'm an "everything google" person so when they advertised the Motorola Droid with free navigation it seemed too good to be true. They cast a line and I bit. Hook, line, and sinker.

I LOVE MY DROID. I do. I really really do. It's not polished and it's not perfect but it works for me. With the iPhone possibly on the horizon for verizon (I should've been a rapper) I could care less except for watching Apple's stock. This phone is fun.

I've rooted it. I've ROM'd it. I've changed ROMs so many times it's pretty ridiculous. Unlike iPod updates, if you want the latest you can go out to find it instead of having to wait for it to come to you. The support is great. The people in the linux/android community are great. You guys are great. There's awesome news everyday. New things in the works. It's all very exciting.

I don't know if the new iPod will offer anything mind-blowing but I hope it does. I'm not rooting for any one platform to fail but for all platforms to be healthy and well. Innovation through competition! Here's the thing though...I still can't put down my Droid. My GF gets so mad she calls me a "Droidbot." So I am. I am a Droidbot.

As for Palm, I hope Google buys them out. It would be spectacular on many different levels. As of now? Android FTW!
