T-Mobile Galaxy S II have Gorilla glass?

I've done a ton of searches trying to find this, but I can't find it anywhere. I can only find that the other versions have gorilla glass. I assumed that this phone would have it, but I also assumed it would be an easy search that someone would have confirmed or denied it. I'm just curious for the most part.

Samsung's original S2 has Gorilla Glass. T-Mobile's version does not. It has reinforced Corning Glass. T-Mobile trying to cut costs I guess.

I thought it was Gorilla Glass since Corning actually makes the Gorilla glass for most phones.

Yeah, I figured it didn't have Gorilla glass, thanks for confirming. I don't know why everybody thinks just because Corning makes it that it must be Gorilla glass, that has to be why it was so hard to find a definite answer.

Edit: I've been looking for a while, any chance anybody found a drop test or scratch test with someone using the T-Mobile GSII and not the original one?

Not sure I really miss Gorilla Glass. Its scratch resistant, not scratch proof. I use a screen protector anyway.

I'm not so much worried about it scratching, as I would use a screen protector as well. I'm more worried about it cracking, I know Gorilla glass is by no means crack proof, but the stronger the better.

Well take this with a grain of salt but - the glass on the GS2 is very hard- I do not use a screen protector because I am having problems with bubbles in the middle of my screen all the time and that jazz. But I have dropped my phone on carpet from waist high in my friend's house and in my house numerous times on the hardwood floor and I am having very very faint scratches that do not even show when there is a little oil from my fingers on the screen. My screen is not cracked or anything. There are a couple of scuffs on the plastic from the dropping without a case but I put on on there and don't even see them any more.

Anyway I have had an Evo 4g from sprint and cracked the display in the first week (it was in my pocket for god's sake) so I can definitely say the glass on the GS2 is pretty hard.

It's a $200 digitizer fused to the LCD and very thin, it's probably not called gorilla glass because it's fused, probably the same. If not better technology though.

P.s. that link provided has no proof on what's what, they're all just arguing. Never base your answer on what a rep says, they're always wrong. What we know for sure is the glass is corning brand.

I've been doing A LOT of searches the last couple days on the Galaxy S II, what I've found is that pretty much anything just simply saying Galaxy S II, they're talking about the ORIGINAL Galaxy S II, not the T-Mobile version... They are different phones, they actually have quite a few differences.

I know the radio and CPU are different between the CDMA and GSM versions. I've read that the T-Mob version is slightly larger than the others.

I'm concerned about the glass thing, tho. I've a friend who has an S2 on Sprint I was talking to yesterday. After looking at his phone I asked "You just keep it in your pocket, eh? How old is it?" I expected to hear "a couple months." I was surprised to hear him answer "about two years." The glass was nearly flawless, near as I could tell.

That was a big plus for the S2. But if the glass on the T-Mob version isn't as robust, well... maybe not. That's my main concern about these large smartphones: All that glass. I've seen more than one smartphone with damaged glass.

OTOH: There's a guy over in the Sprint forum of the opinion that Gorilla Glass ain't all that great.

I've dropped my phone twice on hardwood floors and it didn't crack and still doesn't have a scratch on it at nearly a year old. I had a screen protector on it for about a day, but ended up taking it off due to bubbles. Whatever type of glass this phone has, it's pretty durable.

I know some sites have those specs, but you won't find it on T-Mobile's site. For now, I'll believe the guy that actually asked Samsung.

I confirmed with a Samsung contact that the T-Mobile version of the Samsung Galaxy S II does NOT have the name brand gorilla glass from corning, but it does have reinforced/fortified glass (their words not mine).

It really doesn't matter to me whether it does or not. I'm not going to sell my phone or like it less because it doesn't have Gorilla Glass.

I may sell it to get the Note 2.

Doesn't matter to me at all either, I was simply just curious as I knew the original had the Gorilla glass.... My SII is going to be here either tomorrow or Wednesday, I'm going crazy waiting for it, it's a huge upgrade from my Exhibit II.

The only thing I'm really having trouble deciding is whether or not to keep the GSII when I get it or if I should have went with the GSM Nexus. I've been looking up hundreds and hundreds of reviews, comparisons, vs threads, and what not, I'm getting A LOT of mixed feelings for both phones. The Nexus would only cost me about $60 more, but as of now, I'm probably going to be sticking with the GSII anyways.

I actually upgraded to the Exhibit 2 from the Optimus V. That's one of the main reasons I think I might stick with the GSII, because the OS seems to be the biggest selling point, but I'll simply just flash Jelly Bean onto my GSII anyways. I know the HD screen is supposed to be pretty nice too, but I don't know if that outweighs the fact that it only has 16GB of internal memory with no SD card slot, plus I've heard a lot of bad things about the camera.
