Help Just got the phone, but there's no space!!

I just got the phone a couple of days ago and can't get any music whatsoever on it.

The only thing I've downloaded is Angry Birds and that's only like 24 MB. I've tried the sync manager, double twist and mounting, but it says there's only 13 MB space available???? Anytime I connect my phone to the computer, the 'Phone storage' section say 'Unavailable' under both 'Total space' and 'Available'.

Here's my storage info:

=Internal storage=
Total space - 0.94GB
Apps - 126MB
Available - 834MB

=Phone storage=
Total space - 95.23MB (Says 'Unavailble' when connected to PC via USB)
Available - 95.21MB (Says 'Unavailble' when connected to PC via USB)

Please help.

Hi not sure if i can help with this one
I am assuming you have tried this...

1st your internal storage .94gb is correct

2nd for your music etc have you downloaded the latest HTC Sync Manager(1.0.39) for HTC One series & HTC Desire C phones of the HTC web site

The HTC Sync (3.2.20) did not work for me

Start Latest HTC Sync Manager select option sync manager from phone screen when option are available
the next bit took a long time eventually the phone and HTC sync manager are linked together then you can select music photos etc you will have to add music the the sync manager then sync the music to the phone.
If you have a SD card you can select in the settings where to sync phone or sd card this will be under the edit function when you select the phone icon top right

3rd option when using the just the cable Connect HTC Desire C to your computer, and select the Disk drive mode and done.

on the pc your drive will show up as HTC Storage (? 95.2mb

double click the icon then you will get a list of folders select mobile, double clicking to open and you should have two folders gallery and music
open the music folder then drag your music to the empty folder (do same for photos in gallery)

close the folders back to disk icon right click and select eject to remove the folder from your system

allow phone time to find music and load it into the player

I too have just bought a Desire C for my wife.
It is advertised as having 4GB of space, however when I connected it to my PC, it says there is only 98MB.
I started an online chat with HTC support and they confirmed that this is correct, that the space is reserved fro the OS and apps.
I am REALLY hacked off with this, this is false advertising, if I had known this, I would not have bought this phone!

The memory shortage isn't end of the world - you can put an 8g, or even 16g micro sd card in it for less than

storage for music & pictures total when viewed on computer (phone set as disk drive) is 98mb

the storage left roughly 980mb (.98Gb) is used for apps.
you can check this by going into app manager and checking used and available space it means you have no need to move apps onto sd card.

Hope this helps HTC are not clear on storage I think they assume most folks want app storage. to be honest I use a 16gb micro sd card and leave apps on phone.

Thought I would chip in and point out the storage is 0.98GB (just under 1 GB), and not 98mb. So more than adequate really. I've downloaded loads of apps and still have over 700mb left, although I've moved most of them to an 8gb memory card I bought for just over

but as i replied to Octobreak (thread author) when placing Music or Pictures on the phone (not memory card) the available storage space is only 98mb, why HTC did this I do not know.

The remainder is for system and app usage

Oh, I think I see where you are coming from now. You're saying that the storage for apps is separate to the storage for photos and music. I had noticed some odd setup where I have phone storage, internal storage and the SD card that I bought (so 3 methods of storage rather than 2 as you might expect).

I think the solution for those struggling with space is to get a cheap SD card (a 4gb will do) and put their music and photos on that.

At least we have the option of adding an SD card - sadly we don't have the option of adding an auto-focus to the camera
