Root {DISCONTINUED}MegaTron 6.2.5 (Updated 7/13/13)

Thank you all for the hard work. Donations have been made in the past, and I hope to be in a place to make more.

How do you undo (delete) the partition? How would the partition if kept in place effect changing from Rom to Rom? Looks like it doesn't, but my SD card says it awful full even after making sure there wasn't extra backups laying around etc.

Things are opening apps slow, my phone isn't real responsive, and transitions from app to home screen is an problem. No FC's or anything just slow. I think I'm just over my head with the link2SD and partitioning thing. So I prol did it wrong and like a corpse is causing issues. I did not use titanium or anything all fresh installs. I'm in CWM 5.0.2.8 or something. I saw someone saying we should have 6 but the links I found where 5.0.8.2 whichever.

Should you not "link2SD" for rooted or important apps like avast? Is there other guidelines you would like to mention on partitioning etc? Can you "view" the other side of the partition?

Thanks a lot everyone. Someone else can take this question this guy has been working his pants off to get us the Mega ROM.

hey guys, does this rom have the same amount of tones/rings that the stock rooted ff27 rom did? after i flashed this i'm missing alot of tones, i didn't notice till last night. course i guess it could be any number of things.

also, about the removed apks, there were a couple i wanted to add back, but i found i couldnt install them with es file explorer, do i have to manually drop them into a folder in the android system or something?

thanks again for this great rom

Es file explorer will not let you gain root access to your file manager. You need to get something like root explorer and since it sounds like you know I little bit, you have to manually drop those apks into system/apps then reboot. They will install themselves

Edit: Slayer72 set me straight. ES file manager does allow root access. I prefer to use root explorer myself.

I didn't even get a chance to hear anything because after I installed the zip file, the phone did not even load so I had to restore my backup of megatron. So can you post a link to the file and also how you got it to install successfully

unless they are not from this ROM.. then they won't install at all.. Chevan has the removed apps for megatron and I'm sure he'll post em or give them to me to post when he has the time to..

you need those because they have been deodexed along with all the rest of the system apps so not just any version of the app will work. One of the things deodexing does is establish the proper links to the .jar files in your framework folder and framework-res.apk which kina makes then system specific..

hope this clears up some confusion on this

I wouldn't recommend having an sd-ext larger than 1024MB
If you installed CWM from my thread then you have the right one
launchers, widgets, or link2sd don't run well from your sd-ext.. everything else is fair game
I think you might have a slow sdcard.. an sdcard (no matter how fast) is slower than your internal storage. that being said, a worn sdcard or a really slow card, like a class2 sd, can sometimes cause lag.. I't might be in your best interest to get a new sdcard. don't buy anything less than a class4. i would recommend a class10 but a 4 will fix the lag issues

if you want to get rid of the partition then follow the instructions again only select 0MB for ext size instead of 1024MB

When I go to the play store on my pc and click install it never does anything on my phone. Any ideas?

Are you selecting your device from the install popup before clicking "install"?

Otherwise, i have no idea. I'd recommend contacting Google, but i learned yesterday how useless and how much of a pain in the ass that is.
