Anyone with a MoDaCo (MDC) Custom or Desire ROM (go to xda or Modaco)... There's a super cool app in the Market for custom trackball colours. Works AWESOME! Installed it last night. Being a market app (Paul from Modaco worked with lilhermit I gather from some posts on xda-developers and/or modaco)... Can set a bunch of apps' notifications (not all though, like google voice for example) to use any colour.... There are preset colours or you can actually customise your own with an RGB mixer palette... I guess maybe the Pro version coming soon will allow more apps to use it...

Here's a link too, for those that might not be able to get from the Market for some reason...

Trackball Alert for Android - Communication

I'll try to post some pics of some of the colours...

It installed beautifully on my Cyanogen. I like that you can have different colors for different alerts. Can't find that in Cyan stock.

glad to hear it works on the Cyanogen ROM... very cool... I love this app... can't wait for the Pro version to have more apps capable of having custom trackball colours... (Google Voice in particular and my AIM client (HI-AIM)...

Yea, works great here on cm5.0.5.3, I'm using it along with trackball notifications in succession and it works great.

@SnotF cm changes the framework so that apps can change the trackball color, but you need another app like this one to customize the colors yourself. Without it you're subject to whatever the app programmer set the notification color as. By default both gtalk and gmail use green, with this app you can change gmail to a different color, along with other apps.

I have blue for txt msg in handcent, red for gmail, green for gtalk, yellow for missed calls, and white for system notifications. And when you use it in conjunction with trackball_notifications_in_succession they will all flash in sequence if you have multiple notifications.

Annoying that he made this an apparently, worse that he wants money for full functionality. Cyans rom does it natively.

LiLHermit was the first one to get the trackball up and running in any functional way.

The Cyan rom uses work that stemmed off what Lil Hermit did((which eventually seemed to push Google to release its native support code)). LH puts its all together in a package.

The mod in Cyan just allows 3rd party apps access.

If it wasnt for LHs work id still be on Google forums bitching that they didnt release it natively.
