Something fishy brewing with 2.1?

I may be looking into this a bit too much...

However, when I would attempt to go through settings to do the firmware update, the past several weeks it was told me "no firmware update is available at this time"

Today, I started to notice a new message that stated "The firmware update could not be completed. Please try again later. If the problem persists, you may need to contact Customer Service Error code:1012"

The way it is worded leads me to believe it IS available, but either I'm experiencing techincal difficulties, or you need to go into a store to complete the update...

Thoughts???

I only get the "no updates available" message.

If you're running stock 1.5 and have not done an update before, there is one (moves you up to 1.56, I think). But it's not 2.1 for the Sprint Hero.

Check you PRI# in setting/about phone/status

what does that mean?

It means that your phone is not connecting to the internet completely, instead of doing a firmware update update you Data Profile, if you still have the same problem then go to your local sprint repair store so they can re-provision your phone or call customer care from another phone and tell then such so they can tell you how to repair it. Usually they would have you do a ##3282# then select edit, then have you enter your MSL then select user name, then press menu and select restore.

You need to check over at xda, there are about a 1000+ post concerning this problem that came to light Saturday night when damage posted a new Rom.

Chuck Norris just Tweeted that he'll be at your place in a half hour to take his 2.1 back! He also said you must now go to a WinMo Phone and like it for 1 Year, afterwards, he might let you back to Android.
