Boost has Disappeared from my Walmart.

As stated in the title I noticed that ALL the other prepaids had been rearranged and something looked out of sorts, then I noticed that Boost was missing. I asked where the Boost stuff went and they told me that Walmart was not carrying Boost products anymore.

When I asked why there was no response.

Anyone else see this in your Wally worlds???

Will.

Walmart has agreements with a couple of the pre-pays but does not with virgin/boost (that i know of). Thereby, they have virgin and boost in their own section...usually very far away from the other pre-pays... Mine has them down by the iPad cases and accessories...

Thanks but they are just gone not to be seen ever again. I also noticed the VM phones are gone too, just the top dollar topup cards and the hot spots that is all and Walmart said they will not be selling Boost or Virgin phones any more. All the other prepaids have a place and look nice.

Boost is on its way out isn't it?

I thought sprint was shutting it down with nextel

It has been known a while now that Sprint is killing iDEN and installing LTE. Boost has also stopped selling iDEN phones and I think offers a trade in on a new Boost CDMA handset.

This being said there is no plans to kill Boost CDMA that we know of. Boost/Virgin has gotten Sprint's WIMAX also as Sprint moves to LTE

They are removing Boost/Virgin Mobile from Wal-mart because Sprint is trying to have more control over who sells their products.

At least that's the general consensus from the conversation i had with some people.

Could be wrong.

I would guess low profit margins.

Generally online retailers won't offer discounts on Boost refills when there are discounts on other prepaid carriers. Logic distates B&M like WalMart would have the same issue.

Also WalMart has its' own line of prepaid last I knew.

I am in the Portland OR Metro area & they still have both the Boost & Virgin Mobile phones in the Walmart's here. With Walmart's newer pre-paid cell service that they are now offering w/family plan(s), their overall monthly pricing for their plans is pretty similar to what Boost already offers. That maybe more the reason you are seeing them disappear from store shelves.
